**Q: What's the difference between selenium chloride and selenate in terms of health and absorption?**
A: Sodium Selenite is the source material used to create our Iso-Ionic stabilized monoatomic ions in solution. Sodium selenite is reduced via oxidation to ions. An ionic solution is not metabolized by the body in the exact same way as a complex compound such as Sodium Selenite. Selenium ions have 5 known oxidative states, and all have variable absorption/uptake methods within the body. Our process uses sodium selenite as a reliable source of selenium ions, which are then isolated and stabilized through oxidation (change in valance state) and then finally presented to the body in the monoatomic form (fulvic acid is the carrier). Our process also results in the reduced selenium ions being chelated using fulvic acid. Fulvic acid is an ionic solution which releases ions to the body via cation exchange. This chelation step technically results in an organic minerals. 


Having said that, all forms of selenium can be toxic if ingested at high enough dosages. Organic forms are typically regarded as less toxic, but they are still toxic. Our monoatomic form, because of its specific valance state, will be quickly absorbed and chelated by amino acids and or enzymes by the body. Those ions not absorbed through one of these mechanisms will be passively absorbed into the blood as an ion. Ultimately, all forms of selenium land up in the liver, where they must be reduced (to a lower oxidative state) to selenide before being transported into the bloodstream. It is our belief that we present the body with the most viable form of mineral given its oxidative state and relative ionic stability. Can our selenium be toxic, sure it can, in large enough dosages. Of course, eating large amounts of brazil nuts can and will also result in selenium toxicity. Please let us know if you have any questions!
