I only wear concealer, blush and eye makeup so it's not like I have a whole face of foundation to wash off. These little pads are great. I take off my eye makeup and then use the pads to "wash" my face. It definitely picks up the makeup as I see it on the pad afterwards. As an added bonus, I get the benefit of 20% glycolic acid on my face for wrinkle control or whatever (I was using retinol cream before but switched to these when I became pregnant 8 months ago). I had considered trying the glycolic acid peel but, knowing myself, I decided to go with these pads instead and am glad I did since the peel would probably be more work and require washing my face. The pads have a nice strong concentration of glycolic acid and require almost no work to use. I don't find I need to moisturize afterwards with this as it leaves my skin feeling hydrated. Sometimes I will follow up with a serum and a light moisturizer. The pads are very wet and saturated with product so I sometimes find it hard to use the whole pad. For this reason, I often use it on my neck and chest area. It will sometimes cause itching and redness in those areas especially if exposed to the sun so be careful with that. I have pretty thick skin in general and got very little irritation from this but some people may need to take it easy while their skin gets used to it. Or wash it off after how long?** A: Don’t wash it off!! Let it work for about 2-3 minutes before putting anything else on your face such as moisturizer. Start with clean face Don’t put it around your eye area. What I do is wash my face and then use a pad as my tuner. On my face neck chest and hands. As it is “working” I brush my teeth and put my eye cream on. Then after 2-3 minutes add whatever else I do to my face - serums, moisturizer. Hope this helps. Do you find this to be true of this product?** A: Yes, I have used every kind of cream and potion. This reduces pores and tightens the skin. It takes time. I noticed the pores first getting smaller. But it works, very gradual but I saw difference in 2 weeks. **Q: Do you put on lotion afterward?** A: It's always a good practice to moisturize after any type of exfoliation :). I am in my early 40s and have started noticing dullness, dryness, and large pores starting to show on my face. I researched some products and wanted to try a Glycolic product to help exfoliate and refresh my skin. Initially, I made the mistake of using this product and not using sunscreen the next day. It was a sunny, hot, late summer day. Well, when they say this product makes you more sensitive to the sun, they are not joking. I got a rash all over my face that burned for 2 weeks. But, this was clearly my fault. I had been warned and didn't listen. I then waited another month to try this product again. I started slowly this time and did it once per week as I wanted to avoid another reaction. After 4 weeks, I moved up to twice a week. I have been seeing some nice results. My skin has a nice glow and looks smoother. My pores definitely look smaller as well. I plan on slowing increasing my usage to every other night to maximize the results.
