The rubber grip in the centre makes it a little heavy and the curved bottom means the cakes end up with a little lip at the bottom, which is ok if you're piping swirls etc on the bottom to cover it up but not ok if you're doing the modern, minimalist, straight edged style of cake. I think the cheap steel/plastic scrapers are more effective than this - to get a flawless finish you need a light touch and a light tool. This is not something you need to splurge on.
