Very solid product. - Im a rare 5 star rater, but this item was one of the best purchases i have made this year. it was easy to install for my unit, less than 20 minutes from app sign up to final testing. another 5 minutes for cable management .the wires are long enough to allow for good placement, it has a magnetic base and also comes with an additional metal plate mounting. the resolution is very good ( still to test Night vision) the app is simple to use and configure. Make sure you have good WiFi. i have both Iphone 11 and Galaxy, and off the bat on initial start up , the apps seems better to me on the android. 24 hour recording ( sound , and motion detection) more with additional onboard memory card port it has on the side . very easy to view using the app. you can also download and share videos. easy 2 wire install , no need for running additional door sensor. the app has a dashboard which gives you a snapshot of your door's condition, the icon doesn't really change if the garage is closed or open. you can set up motion and sound detection rules and motion zones. although it can see slightly into my third bay and it has the ability to be wired to a second door ( and the app can be configured to add it to the dashboard) i will purchase another one because i want a clean look and don't want to run wires across to the unit and i want full door view. Determined issue was the wall mounted control button. Purchased this device in 10/2018. Since then it has been headache after headache. I've contacted Momentum Technical Support at least a dozen times for several issues. 1) Camera WILL NOT support recording to a 128GB MicroSD card. According to Technical Support this is something they area aware of and are working towards fixing. Because of this you are FORCED to sign up for cloud recording. Luckily they offer a free package that offers cloud recordings for 24 hours. However, if you need footage beyond that, you are out of luck. 2) The motion detection is hit or miss. Several times my garage door opened on it's own (due to a fauly control button) and I never received a motion notifcation. Then once something moved past the open garage door, I'd get a notification. 3) We have a WiFi mesh with a STRONG WiFi signal throughtout our home. Even still, the camera contsanly disconnects from WiFi on it's own and will not reconnect. I'm then forrced to reset the device and reprogram. I've done this at least 1/2 dozen times. 4) The mobile app is HORRIBLE. Extremely long delays. It will constantly crash. I can't count how many times I've had to force stop or uninstall/reinstall the app. Running Android 9 Pie OS. 5) Garage door opened and closed slower when thos device was installed. The moment itvwas removed, it was a night and day difference. Momentum Technical Support had been contacted for all the aformentioned issues. The answer is ALWAYS the same. We will escalate the issue to our Development Team and follow up with you. Well, the Development Team must office out of a black hole, because I have yet to receive a single response from them. I ended up buying a new Ring Indoor camera and the Chamberlain My Q Smart Garage Door opener to replace this unit. I got the first set for sale in-person in a store, and was surprised how good the app is and the quality of the video for the price. You can speak through the cameras using the app, you can set it to only motion sense in certain areas in case you have a pet, and you can set it to only record at certain times of the day on certain days. The alert system is not very good because the cameras are so sensitive that they alert me to motion if a cloud passes the window and causes a change in brightness, or when it switches to night vision, or when some dust passes the lens. It is so annoying that I turned off phone alerts. The setup is also easy. I like the cameras so much that I gave one to my sister in law, one to my mother, and bought another pair for myself. I think these should be able to be bought in singles because the cameras can operate individually, even on different phones. I’m not sure if more than one phone can be connected to one camera though.
