I think it was probably picture wall hangers. If there are four small shiny metal posts in one end, and a plastic hook on the other end, then they are a different style of hangers. Rather than drive a single nail through a metal hanger, you just place the white plastic hanger flat against the wall, with the metal posts above the hook below, and use a small hammer to tape the four metal posts simultaneously into the wall. Then hang your picture on the built-in hook on the lower end. I made a short video, but could not load it onto the site. **Q: Can the stand be removed?** A: It’s attached to the back, so I would say no. It does fold flat for hanging. **Q: ?Would a magazine that is about 1/3 of an inch thick fit** A: I don’t think you would be able to close it properly.
