Product Description Brass: lancashire — first published as brass — is an economic strategy game that tells the story of competing cotton entrepreneurs in lancashire during the Industrial revolution. You must develop, build, and establish your Industries and network so that you can capitalise on demand for Iron, coal and cotton. The game is played over two halves: the canal phase and the rail phase. To win the game, score the most victory points (VPs), which are counted at the end of each half. Vps are gained from your canals, rails, and established (flipped) industry tiles. Directions Instructions on how to play the game, including rules for developing, building, and establishing industries and networks. Safety Warning Not suitable for children under the age of 3.

A: It's the retail version with the token paper coins

A: Yes, the copy I purchased was in english

**Q: Is brass: lancashire a reprint of the original brass game, or has the game been updated like in brass: birmingham?**
A: As it states in the game's BGG site, it is a reprint of the original Brass game with only the following rule changes:
1. The virtual link rules between Birkenhead have been made optional.
2. The three-player experience has been brought closer to the ideal experience of four players by shortening each half of the game by one round and tuning the deck and distant market tiles slightly to ensure a consistent experience.
3. Two-player rules have been created and are playable without the need for an alternate board.
4. The level 1 cotton mill is now worth 5 VP to make it slightly less terrible.

Very fun game.

If you want a 30 minute game, look elsewhere. If you want a well built game with quality pieces and lovely artwork that lasts into the night then this is for you. Sometimes you think twice about paying so much for a board game, but I think this will really give the distance. You can play the game in halves if you want a quick fix, or go the whole hog and play the full 2 eras of canal and railway. This game is what I would call a tycoon game, plenty of twists and turns and quite a bit of luck involved in the card turn base. It is a complicated game when first starting and the set up is half of the fun and takes a while to get your head around. Great instructions and many videos online to help you and watch. Lovely pieces and feels quality and once you play you wont worry about the price tag.
