Battery was getting old, then the second charging cable broke. The first cable cost Β£16 to replace. I paid for this device Β£19 - including the Β£16 cable; the first one was about Β£100. It's not supported that well anymore, being an old model, but it works just the same as the one my wife had except the battery is back to new.
