The ring rotates in the same ball & socket fashion as other phone rings (was a little rigid at first but works well now). I’ve dropped my phone a few times since buying this case and it’s done a great job of protecting the screen. One issue I’ve experienced is that some charging ports are too large for the opening. Luckily the case itself is flexible enough to move to the side so this hasn’t been much of an issue.
