This device works somewhat at leveling out the sound. It's not perfect, but we can definitely hear a difference. As others have noted, it makes an odd electrical arcing sound when it first comes on. That doesn't seem to hurt anything. We've been using it for over a year now and it still seems to work fine. ----------------- Well, it's been a couple years and the regulator is still working for my father's satellite TV setup. I recently bought a second one for his DVD player. My one gripe is the price increase of 67% within two years. I would have switched to another brand and almost did, but I was in a hurry at the time. I would not by another one at the current price. Review: For us, this did not work out - This didn’t work for us. We sent it back, did some research and found something else that worked. It was by LEMONKTV I think is the brand name. Not sure if I got it right, but it worked for us. My husband had to work with it, but got it to work.
