## Description

Review: Tasty! - I actually like these very much. The pastry is flaky and it’s loaded with currants. Not too dry at all.
Review: If you live in the U.S., this is the closest to what you are looking for, but still not perfect. - If you grew up in North America and are reading this, you are probably looking for something similar to Sunshine's Golden Fruit Raisin Biscuits that was bought and then discontinued by Keebler in 2001. I have yet to find a cookie similar to that. Sunshine's cookie was made with a lot of raisins. Garibaldi Biscuits are known for being dry and only sparsely filled with currants. Garibaldi, are also, in general, less sweet. I tried the top 3 most popular versions on desertcart. Crawford's, a major UK brand of biscuits, as well as two store brands, Morrisons and Tesco. In a side by side comparison, I keep coming back to Tesco's as the best. It is slightly sweeter with a little more fruit than the rest. It's overall quite enjoyable and only slightly disappointing. Crawford's is the major manufacturer of Garibaldis, and is available in many U.S. supermarkets in their International Food section. They look right, but don't buy them. They are possibly the worst variation I have tried to date. They are barely sweet and always dry and bland with some currants, but nowhere near enough. I've bought them at British specialty stores, supermarket chains and even on desertcart until I learned my lesson. Morrison's isn't bad and takes second place. It's less toasty in color and flavor, is the sparsest on fruit and sweetness, but the underlying biscuit is in fact the tastiest of the three. If you don't want your Garibaldi sweet, this is definitely the one I'd recommend. Again, while I have now bought Tesco's variation more than once, it isn't Sunshine's Biscuit, but it's close enough until something better comes along or I learn to bake my own.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Superb, the closest yet to a childhood favorite
*by H***R on November 13, 2019*

We've been trying several brands of Garibaldi, looking for one that comes close to the American pressed raisin cookies of my childhood. This one is far and away the best yet of those we've tried. The currants are plentiful and moist, the biscuit is not too dry and has a pleasing hint of sweetness, and the overall flavor is delightful. Perfect with coffee or tea, and a welcome harkening back to those raisin cookies of childhood.
