Both the bellpush (transmitter) and chime (receiver) feel solid and well made. If buyers are happy with the simple (factory setting) chime, then the item works 'out of the box'. The many optional chimes are accessed (auditioned) by simply pushing a button on the side of the chime (which must be plugged in to do this ...... the chime is, after all, mains operated). As soon as you've settled on the sound you want then, (within five seconds) press and hold the 'push' (for about five seconds - there's and audible cue) and you're good to go with your chosen chime. Some are brief, others longer (often extracts from well known tunes).We are blessed with a long garden and, as a consequence, have too often missed callers because we didn't know they'd rung the bell. We had thought we'd overcome the problem a few months ago when we bought a two 'receiver' set up manufactured by another very well-known name ..... but the distance over which the transmission was effective turned out to be at the very bottom end of the claimed range.This one, however, works well (over a considerably longer distance than the earlier brand in which we'd invested hope and money - (we have it plugged into a socket in our greenhouse'We've now confidently ordered a third, battery-operated, chime - pretty confident that our days of missing callers are over!On another matter; I needed a little support from the company: I emailed my enquiry and had a rapid email reply, followed by a phone call and the matter was speedily resolved.How good is that?We bought 'off-the shelf-, which is a black set-up - I now think it might come in a range of colours.At this stage I am more than delighted with the effectiveness of this piece of kit - and the prompt, friendly and helpful response of the company. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is the latest version with improved selection of ringtones *by R***B on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 July 2019* Excellent service, ordered mid afternoon arrived next morning.Nice build quality, looks neat (I ordered the black version) does not impede the use of the second socket of a 2 gang switched socket, it hangs down a little beneath the socket but does not project above it.Easy to set up and pair the second transmitter with both receivers to use a different bell tone to distinguish between front and side doors.Adjustable volume control is very useful, the loudest setting is very loud.There are several ring tone options that are variations on basic bells if your not into cheesy melodies.Would have got 5 stars if you didn't have to unscrew the minute screws holding the circuit board inside the bell push to change the battery. I was very impressed with both reliability and sound quality and duration of the ring. You can control the level of the sound and being a bit deaf I turned mine up to maximum-which makes all visitors to my home jump! Because I have now need of an upstairs extention and an invalid to care for I decided to extend with two further receivers and a doorbell tranmitter for the invalid - they can all (both new and original) be set up to work together or individually with different ring tones which is really very flexible and the range is great in a large house. I looped the second doorbell transmitter around the invalid's neck and he can 'light the house up' with his individual sound when he needs me, and of course he can hear the bells too.
