This is perfect for $30! *by T***I on December 29, 2020* Not sure why people are complaining about this kettle. What these reviewers fail to realize is that you should have this thing filled with water to the max every time you boil water; otherwise, if there is not enough water in the kettle, you will risk damaging it because HIGH HEAT WILL DAMAGE THE THERMOMETER AND THE KETTLE. Water helps to moderate temperature within the kettle and keeps the kettle from exceeding temperatures of 212 F. If there is little-to-no water in the kettle, the heat will absolutely destroy the thermometer and severely damage the kettle. Not sure who needs to read this, but it takes a bit of common sense and basic knowledge of fire to use this kettle. The only complaint I have is not about the kettle, but the time it takes for water to boil. I may have to consider getting an electric gooseneck kettle for the sake of convenience, but besides that, this kettle is absolutely great for its price. Great value for the money.
