I have a sample of plum Japonais and I do agree with the other reviews that the opening is a little different but dry down is amazing. It is more spicier, but definitely worth it for the price. I still have a good amount left so I was able to compare side by side, over several hours and over the the course of a few days. As many know TF PJ has long been discontinued. Here are my thoughts: This is not a perfect dupe. The opening is missing the plum and is very cinnamon forward. If plum is so hard to replicate then dates would have been a good substitute. If that sweet and spicy opening is what you want, this misses that mark. But hold on…. The longevity is better, on my skin, than TF PJ. They are both beautiful fragrances and I like this fragrance a lot. The middle and base notes are very similar and after 4 hours they are almost identical. I very much like this fragrance for what it is and isn’t. I kept smelling my wrist and loving the scent. Projection in the first hour is beastly. Never really turns into a skin scent. Three foot projection at four + hours. I also received a sample that is fantastic and in a completely different direction. Turin 24.
