You don't have to be an engineer to hook this up. Works great even detects remote from 20+ feet away.And I plugged the USB power feed into one of the USB plugs on the back of my TV.. So when I turn on the TV, the repeater is powered up and ready to work. If you having a hard time finding the sensor on the unit you are trying to connect to, just have someone push the up-down buttons on the remote while you slowly move the repeating eye across the front of the unit. when the unit starts to respond to commands just push the self stick adhesive to hold in place.
