However it was useless when it rained as the rainwater came into the car via the item and soaked the front seat. The only way to avoid this was to fit the item for every time it was to be used. **Q: Could this be attatched to a ceiling in a wc to aid transferring from toilet to wheelchair?** A: I would think so as long as ceiling has something for it to be attached to that was equally strong. I understand where you are coming from. But don't think this strap would solve your problem. I don't know what your car looks like but imagine that there won't be any place to anchor the strap to the boot lid. The width of the strap is similar to a safety seat belt inside the car, and not sure how you'd fix it in a position that would help you to pull down the lid.
