## Description

Sparkolloid is by far, our most popular and effective wine clarifier. Mix one tablespoon of sparkalloid into 1 cup of boiling water. Boil for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. While solution is still warm, mix into 6 gallons of wine and stir gently. For best results, wait at least a month before bottling. Size- 1 lb.

Review: A very fortunate find - Clarifying wine is a pretty complex subject. After reading countless posts and Youtube videos, I settled on this product. It arrived quickly and is a snap to use. I boiled a cup of water and added the powder, mixing it well and waited the required time. That was yesterday afternoon. This morning, you can see the sediment moving down the carboy to the bottom and the wine at the top is almost clear. Wow, that was fast. It's cheap, easy to use, and apparently very effective.
Review: Clears wine up, depending on fog origin - I have been small batch brewing (1-5 gallons) wine for a couple years now, and I still have plenty of this product left in this bag. It is perfect for clearing wines up, depending on the origin of the fog. If you use pressed or concentrated juiced that don't require boiling, this will be perfect for you. However, if you use ANY form of boiling or use of high heat to produce the wine/beer/etc using fruits or vegies, your fog will most likely be the result of released pectins, and you will need to use 'Pectic Enzyme' to get the pectins to clump up and fall to the bottom of your wine.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Sparkalloid vs Chitosan ... is one better than the other? I notice they're both positive charged fining. Just trying to decide which to go with. ty**
A: Not familiar with Chitosan. Sparkalloid works well for me. Don't forget Bentonite to filter the negative charged.

**Q: What is the shelf life??**
A: Thank you for your inquiry. If you kee the sparkolloid in a cool, dry, air tight container it will be good for at least a year. If not longer.

**Q: Will this work to clear beer also?**
A: I don't know, don't make beer but principle should be the same. I would try a gal size amount first before dumping it in a big amount.

**Q: Will this change or add the/a flavour to my finished wine?**
A: i used it for a batch of homemade white wine- and the addition of the recommended amount really worked well in the final stages of finishing the wine. In comparison to commercial wine kits, i think it was similar and I noted no aftertaste. I did add some sulfite at the end to stabilize the wine.
