Review: works well if you do it right - Some of the complaints on here are really weird, which makes me wonder if people know what they're doing, or if they're thinking that this is a different product than it is. I've used this now just fill multiple cracks, even big deep cracks as wide as my finger, and the only "trick" is that you need to back it with something if you have anything more than superficial cracks. I've been using foam rods that I wedge down in there, but there are various things you can back it with if you look around. If you don't back it, you're going to waste tube after tube of it trying to fill a crack, and it's just not going to be a good fill. Back it well, sweep out any loose dirt, and then squeeze a good amount, you want to stick the tip down in there and then fill it so that it is mounded slightly up above the level of the driveway, and then just keep going until you finish the whole crack, and when you come back, it should have settled slightly and you just scrape a putty knife across it and call it a day. one box should fill 3-4 deep cracks that run the width of a driveway, if you do this. The only downside that I've seen is that if it happens to rain within a day or two of doing it and the water stands on top of it for too long, it will discolor to a brownish color. it doesn't seem to affect the bond in any way, and if it bugs you, you can just skim a thin fresh layer of it back over it with a putty knife to fix it
Review: Convenient way to seal up those annoying cracks in your asphalt driveway - Convenient way to seal up those annoying cracks in your asphalt driveway. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure: sealing when the crack first appears prevents dirt getting in there, weeds sprouting, and damage when water oozes in and freezes (widening the damage). I also wanted to stop ants from making their homes in the cracks and then coming into the garage, which has been "bugging" me for two years since I moved in. Works like a charm, although it can be messy. First, clean out the crack or holes and use your dustbuster to vac out any grit remaining. Cut an angled piece out of the tip then slowly pump the caulk gun. Have a cloth or board ready when the material comes out to avoid waste and mess. I used a small putty knife to carefully apply and smooth out the gooey tar-like stuff. When the weather is hot, drying doesn't take long, but I picked a long weekend when we would not be driving over the repairs. Cleans up with mineral spirits. Avoid getting on your clothes or shoes! I am ordering a second tube for future repairs. Good stuff, and beats buying a five-gallon bucket of tar.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What color is this after it sets?**
A: It is a deep gray, but blends in well with the asphalt.

**Q: I live near Atlanta, will this hold up well to the hot humid summers?**
A: Hi, yes, it will perform fine in Atlanta. Thanks!

**Q: Would be good to seal/reseal car headlight. If yes, what temp need to break the structure for resealing?**
A: Hi, this product is designed for blacktop driveways. You should consult your local auto parts store for a sealant to use on your car. Sorry!

**Q: Is this product easy to apply just into the crack without overlaying on to the smooth surface of the driveway? Is it black?**
A: The product is fairly easy to apply if you use a trowel to force it into the crack. Be sure to rest the trimmed tip of the container on paper towel or newspaper because it oozes out of the tube when you use the caulking gun into which you have placed the canister. There will be some overlay. The color is more of a dark gray when it dries.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ better than the liquid stuff
*by E***O on January 3, 2025*

This works pretty good for filling cracks, but you are limited in where you can use it. If the crack is small, this stuff is too thick to go into the crack, and you end up just covering the top (which isn't good). And if the crack is too big, you can empty a whole tube of this stuff in no time, so this can get very expensive if you have a large driveway.
