I just got this replacement yesterday, and I'm impressed. I had no issues hooking it up, and aside from the fan being a tad louder than the original one, it's perfect. Considering Gamestop will try to get you for nearly $50, this is well worth the purchase instead. I guess the true test will be how long it lasts, so I will update this if I need to at that time...but for now, I approve this!So, after 8 months I can say it got noticably less quiet, especially when starting the Xbox up. It makes a pretty awful grinding/whirring noise. It does quiet down after about 10 seconds, but it's pretty terrible sounding. That being said, it still hasn't died on me...but with fan sounds like that I don't anticipate it lasting too much longer.
