## Description

Pxyelec XD-609 4 Mode On/Off Touch Switch Sensor for 220V Incandescent Lamp : desertcart.co.uk: DIY & Tools

Review: Works a treat! - I have a matching pair of bedside touch lamps, so when one went pop and died one day, I wondered if it was possible to repair it? There was some work involved as the base of the lamp was pop rivetted on. I drilled out the pop rivets, and exposed the control box which upon examination had a couple of burnt out components. I ordered this sensor as it appeared to be the closest match to the existing one. The wiring instructions were spot on, and easy to follow on the item description, although as a retired copier service engineer, this was never going to be a problem for me. Safety is the keyword here, as you are dealing with mains in a metal housing! I stripped back all the wires from the lamp, soldered the ends and connected them to the sensor box using proper crimp type connectors. I had also taken the precaution of putting each connection inside a heat sealed insulating sleeve. Everything worked fine, and I then reassembled the lamp base ready for use. All of the tools such as soldering iron, crimping tool and connectors are things I owned, so if you are doing this repair you may want to get some bits before starting. Verdict is 5 stars. Worked beautifully and my lamp is now back in action. The only point I will add, is that I have the lamp plugged in to the same socket as my PC. When I turn on the PC, the lamp comes on, all on its own. I suspect its the sudden surge of current, as I've had this issue with other touch lamps before. Wasn't an issue with the old lamp though. May try a surge protector plug on the socket?
Review: Promises much ... and part achieves - I wish that I had the abilities to design this little gem, as these touch control lamps are a little piece of magic - that sometimes fails ….. then there is this device, with the possibility of restoring the magic, except that there is a mischievous element that turns the light on when nobody is looking. I have not been able to speak to the manufacturer - but if I could, I would ask for a minor adjustment, please, I am sure not too difficult, to overcome this hic-cup, and then this is a great product - I wait to hear more ...

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It does the job well!

Brilliant product. I tried another seller first and the unit failed. Very straight forward to wire up and only basic knowledge of electronins required. Granted it doesn't come with a wiring diagram, apart from the sticker attached to the unit.
