We bought three strings for ourselves, and liked them so much that we bought a few more as gifts. The balls are in three sizes. The wires have a nice blend of stiffness and flexibility, allowing you to shape the display (see photo).The little box where you plug it into the wall is also where you select which of the eight display modes you want. Fading, flashing, steady, etc. The flashy ones would drive us nuts after a few seconds, but maybe you'll like them. We usually just want them on steady, so they're pretty but unobtrusive. You have to click the button seven times to get to the steady mode. And it doesn't remember. So each time we plug them in, it's seven clicks. Times three strings. It'd be so nice if it simply remembered what mode it was last used in.
