This indicator is very sensitive and smooth. Very stable in side to side axis. Well worth a few extra dollars.

Use this on a daily basis and it performs perfectly.

Wish I'd spent the money on this sooner but should have ordered the full set with all holders and dovetail clamps. I had a DTI professional grade from LMS for years it was a decent inicator but got damaged tried a Shars as a replacement but it was not giving repeatable measurements. The Mitutoyo works smoothly seems to dead on accurate and reapeats the same measurement every time. Wish I'd spent the money and got this sooner it is so much nicer than the cheaper ones.

It's Mitutoyo, not much else you need to know. My QC department told me no more than .0001 off measuring gauge blocks. (Yes, it IS graduated in half-thou, that doesn't mean it can't read tenths.) Also can withstand coolant splashes. Don't ask why I know this.

I purchased this just because i needed one eventually. I haven't used it yet. Its a genuine mitutoyo so its going to be accurate and reliable. But it didn't really soak in that this was a .0005" graduation indicator, which is quite a coarse graduation. Even for average shop work, a .0001" graduation indicator is practical for dialing in your setups. This will be nice for larger stuff, but looking back, I should've got a .0001" indicator and that will be my next purchase. The other thing is, i'm pretty sure it didn't come with a post - its not in the box now and i don't remember having one when I opened it up, but i could be wrong and it escaped me. Good product, im sure it will see use eventually, for a first indicator i recommend an .0001"

I have been using this indicator for years and absolutely love it. This product is super durable and accurate! I have been abusing this indicator at work and it still gives me super accurate readings. It may be more money the other dial indicators online, but I would spend the extra couple bucks…. You will not regret it.

This is way better then the others I have tried. Silky smooth, can still get good thenth readings , accurate and repeatable,just love it.
