The most important thing to me when choosing an umbrella was size. For my travels, I want an umbrella that takes minimal space in my carry-on luggage and one I can carry in my jacket pocket. This umbrella fits that bill while also exhibiting decent quality. I find it easy to open and easy to close. The latching mechanism that holds it open is different from other umbrellas I've had, and at first it doesn't seem that reliable, but so far it's worked fine. I like the blue color I got, also. For a compact umbrella mainly to take when travelling, I'm quite happy with this one and I'm surprised to find one at its low price.

I bought this umbrella for a trip in 2022 that was dry so I did not need the umbrella. Fast forward 11 months and I take it on my next backpacking trip in an Ireland. On the third use It was blown inside out and 2 of the metal ribs were broken by a huge gust of wind that probably was in excess of 70mph.. Since the umbrella was described as wind proof I contacted the seller and inquired about a replacement under their warranty. The seller responded quickly and immediately shipped a replacement that arrived in 3 days. Excellent service. The umbrella is big enough to keep me dry and packs very small, fitting easily into a side pocket of my pack. It even has a soft carry bag with drawstring closure. Nice!

I gave this umbrella 4 stars for the price and what I wanted it for. I had previously bought a quality folding umbrella that cost 5 or 6 times as much, and it is certainly the one I would use if I were going out in a downpour. But at 11 inches when folded, it does not fit into my purse. I plan to use this umbrella to carry in my purse when there is only a chance of rain. Yes, this SY Compact umbrella is more difficult to open and close, and its handle is somewhat wobbly when extended. I suspect it would not be good in high winds and has to be treated gently. But I was surprised by how big the canopy is when opened, and it fits easily and neatly into its carrying pouch. If you can only get one "travel" umbrella, spend more and get a better one. But for me it is what I expected for the price and much more convenient for keeping handy for the days you may or may not get a sprinkle.

It’s heavier than expected and it’s a little too big to travel with. The cap keeps falling and sometimes the stick just opens. The other problem is that the string to hold it is too small to carry on my wrists, so will allow to have my hands free to take pictures.

This is a lightweight small umbrella. It was very difficult to open however, so I returned. If it hadn’t been for that I would have kept it as it was such a good size and weight.

I had been looking for a small umbrella to keep in my work bag to prepare for unexpected showers. Bought a different item which I ended up throwing out because the canopy wouldn't lock into position (and discovered the problem too late to return it). It's strange to say it about such an inexpensive item, but this little guy is well made. It's reliable and sturdy, and even comes with a neat little drawstring pouch to keep it clean. It's tiny when folded up, but big enough to provide decent protection when it's deployed. I have purchased several of them.

I just took delivery of this umbrella (today 17Jan25) and found that the actual length is not as advertised. Your description states the umbrella length is 7.64 inches. The one I received is 10 inches (over a full 2 inches longer) so it is not as compact as I expected. I will keep it but, am very disappointed with the false advertising, as I particularly wanted a smaller umbrella.

The umbrella is very good size, ideal for carrying in backpack pocket. a little bit flimsier than I expected, I hope it goes well in wind, as I am not sure how flexible it is. Ok so far.

Absolute waste of money. I bought this based on all the positive reviews. Wish I’d just read the one star reviews as they’re more accurate. This umbrella is so difficult to open that you’d be drenched by the time you finally got it open.

It is compact but it also is a little bit flimsy. it’s a bit hard to lock open into place and the actual knob at the bottom moves around and it won’t click into place when you want to look it up I wouldn’t recommend this product
