Read this book to my kids when they were little and we made stone soup together now reading it to my grandbabies and making stone soup with them perfect grandma grandkid activity, and beautiful story

I really like this book. It’s such a good lesson on sharing. Travelers to a little town somewhere in your imagination. The artwork is really nice, big colorful pictures especially for the little ones. I highly recommend this book.

There are several versions of this story, I like this book and illustrations the best. It is the story of people working together and how a wonderful soup is made with a "magic stone", due to the fact that all the people in the town contribute just one vegetable each to improve the flavor. I got to know this story because a teacher at my children's elementary school entered a contest put on by Paul Newman's food company for best recipe using one of his products - won $10,000 for items for the school!! RECIPE: Boil a small stone in 2 cups of water for 5 minutes to kill the germs. In an 8 quart soup pot, put the stone, 2 lbs. beef stew meat, 10-11 cups water, 1 large chopped onion, 4 tsp. salt and 1 tsp. pepper, simmer on low for two hours. Add 26 oz. jar Newman's Own "Sockarooni" Spaghetti Sauce, 4 sliced carrots, 3 sliced celery stocks, 10 small red potatoes cut in chunks, 1 small pkg frozen Italian green beans, and 1/2 cup uncooked ABC pasta. Simmer until done. Serve with warm bread and butter. Makes 12 servings.

I wanted to use this version of Stone Soup in a lesson that I did with my 2nd and 3rd grade music students. I needed it sooner rather than later and opted to purchase the digital version instead of the paper version like I normally would have in my music classroom. I loved using the digital book to be honest! I'd never done that before but the kids could easily see the words and pictures no matter where they were in my room. Great story, great illustrations!

I purchased the book for my grandchild. I enjoyed reading the story to my children when they were young and love the new look of the book even more for my grandchild.

I was attracted to this book because I thought this book had a black main character. I like to read different versions of Stone soup to my students. However, as I looked through the pages, the guy on the front cover only looks that complexion on the cover. Still a good story.

I bought this book for my young great niece for Christmas. This is a classic tale that, surprisingly, I read when I was in elementary school. The theme of the importance of sharing that the book is about remains relevant to this day. I wanted to share a classic story with my niece and Heather Forest' update of this classic was perfect. The illustrations are beautiful and I can't imagine any child or parent who would not love this book.

Loved sharing this book with our youth and young adults.
