Melanie has spent her entire life working her way up in the world. By day, she studies at law school, and by night, she serves drinks at an exclusive club to afford her tuition. But she will never admit her true desire—to escape from her fast-paced, high-pressure life, if only for a moment. When she meets Vanessa, a glamorous executive and a regular at the club, she is drawn to the enigmatic raven-haired woman. Vanessa is relentless in pursuing what she wants—and what she wants is Melanie. Soon, Melanie is caught up in Vanessa's sensual games of submission. Melanie insists that their affair remains purely physical. But as her limits are tested, so is the line between lust and love. When ghosts from the past reappear, both women must face their deepest fears. Can Melanie surrender her everything to Vanessa, or will old wounds prove too deep? Being Hers is the first book in the sizzling Irresistibly Bound series. Each book in the series can be read alone. Review: A lovely Saphic fantasy - That's the first Anna Stone book I read and I was pleasantly surprised. I thoroughly enjoyed that little Saphic fantasy with a side of domination and submission. Normally, I enjoy my D/s with a little more hardcore kink, more intense level of pain and a bit on the dark side in terms of consent. Still, it was a wonderful story, very easy to read and get lost in, with beautiful, sensual writing and well-fleshed out characters. I loved Melanie's strength and determination and could relate to all her insecurities. I wish we had some more insight into Vanessa's POV as she was a pretty interesting character. I'm not sure we ever got to know her even if Ms. Stone gave us a good insight in her world, flaws and past. The intention is clear, we were meant to be on our toes as much as Mel but still... I'd love a retelling of Being Hers from Vanessa's POV. Very hot sex scenes, great build up of the tension, flowing writing with a dash of wealth and economic fantasy. Overall, I'd recommend it to anyone who's interested in F/f romance and BDSM Light but doesn't know where to start. 5 red hot stars Review: decent read - This book is my first from this author. I thought this book was written well. I am normally a dark romance reader and would have liked to have had this in a first person type narration. But all in all good book.

The Angels Sang A Whiskey Lullaby
A erotic romance story that is way more entertaining then 50 shades and remains me of the erotic romance graphic novel series Sunstone. There's love and heartbreak that comes with a relationship. The two leads Vanessa and Melanie are two broken and traumatized souls looking for someone they can cherish and call theirs. The steamy scenes and drama scenes were really balanced out really well. The main villains of this book were doubt, second thinking, not opening up about your feelings and previous toxic relationships. The keys to a healthy relationship is communication, trust and understanding your partner. Because if you don't be honest about your feelings, it can make thing very difficult for you. I really liked that they got a happy ending, but I really think there was missed opportunity to have a scene with both Vanessa and Melanie facing the two past ex's Kim and Rose so to get some much needed peace, but I think they found that in each other. Even though I would've liked to see Melanie confront Kim about how she treated her and how Vanessa would react to her as well. But I would like to see a future book with these two again.

Exactly what I expected.
Being Hers is a solid, and thoroughly enjoyable romance. That being said, it is nothing groundbreaking, and at no point did it wow or surprise me, leaving me feeling like I had read this story before. It gave me exactly what I wanted, and what I expected. If you're looking for a fun lesbian romance with BDSM, this will deliver.

Life hurts can build walls we don't see.
This story of two very strong women who are drawn to each other touches me. Their intimate life is one I don't understand but their raw emotion is palpable. As they learn to give and take from each other a deep love opens healing for both. I really liked Mel and Vanessa as they found strength together. Such great characters and strong love story made me love this book. This series gives me a love for Anna Stone's writing.

Yum. Fun.
4.5 stars Work place romance. Check. Hot older Domme. Check. Broken individuals healing through connection. Check. Happily ever after. Check. Love love love this story between Mel and Vanessa, Mel is the typical overworked ambitious college law student with a sad upbringing Vanessa is the aloof mysterious owner of the upscale Lounge with a heartbreak story Eventually Vanessa takes the role of Domme over Mel. Very healthy and good representation of bdsm as a whole with good conflict and resolutions To the overall story arc. . Dinged a quarter point for Venessas over extravagant gifts (bit of a red flag 🚩 in the real world) Dinged a quarter point for a bit of questionable consent (somethings should have been more throughly communicated) Over all a great read.

3.5-stars: 'Being Hers' by Anna Stone
I haven’t read many FF Romance books, but I’m remedying that thanks to the Romanceopoly Challenge hosted by Under the Covers Book Blog. I finished reading Being Hers by Anna Stone and completed the Ever After Street Challenge, which is to read a Saphhic Romance. I already had the ebook on my Kindle but purchased the audiobook to listen to the book when I couldn’t physically sit down to read it. Storyline/My Thoughts: This was my first book by the author Anna Stone, and it had an interesting storyline between Melanie and Vanessa. A forbidden romance between employer and employee, in which neither is looking for love since both have had past relationships that broke them in different ways. The story starts great, especially how the MCs meet, and Melanie is taken aback that Vanessa happens to be the owner of the club she’s working. Melanie finds out that Vanessa is a Domme, and Vanessa would love it if Melanie would be her submissive. Yes, this book has BDSM elements, but it’s mild compared to other BDSM books I’ve read. I tend to read a lot of MF that has BDSM, so this was my first FF with BDSM. There’s an age gap between the characters, which didn’t bother me since I enjoy age-gap romances. It also has the billionaire romance trope to it, with Vanessa being a successful club owner and Melanie working at the club that Vanessa owns. It had everything I like in romance books as far as tropes go, but it lacked belief the characters were endgame with one another. I definitely didn’t connect with the characters towards the end and when the conflicts were resolved. I didn’t feel it was resolved between the two characters. It felt rushed almost and not believable that the characters loved one another, especially since both had issues with previous lovers. I loved where Anna Stone was going with this book, but it was an okay read for me. I want to mention that I wished this book would have been dual pov and not single, and maybe I would have enjoyed it a lot more. I only got Melanie’s POV and not Vanessa’s POV, and if I had read what Vanessa was feeling, I probably would love both characters more. Instead of reading it, I also listened to the book and wasn’t fond of the narrator. Just because I didn’t like the narrator for this story doesn’t mean other readers may not like the narrator. Story Rating: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️.5 POV: Single POV in third person. Standalone/Part of Series: It’s part of the Irresistibly Bound series, but each book can be read as a standalone. Do I recommend this book? I recommend this book to readers who have read other books by Anna Stone and if you enjoy FF Romance with the tropes mentioned below. Just because this book didn’t get a high rating from me doesn’t mean other readers won’t enjoy it. Genre/SubGenre(s): Romance | Contemporary Romance | Erotic Romance | Lesbian/FF Romance | Sapphic Romance Trope(s)/Element(s): Boss/Employee | Instant Love/Attraction | Age Gap Romance | Workplace Romance

Throughly enjoyed
I saw some not so great reviews of this book but I'm glad I ignored them and decided to judge for myself. I thought it was a well written story with a main character that was easy to root for. Mel's insecurities were well earned and it was easy to see how she could let them allow her to second guess things with Vanessa. I personally thought the spicy scenes were off the charts hot! The BDSM scenes came across as well researched and true to life. I enjoyed the sub/domme dynamic and how Vanessa educated Mel as their relationship grew. Would definitely recommend this book!

Great
I really liked both Vanessa and Mel. Vanessa gives off really cool Ice Queen vibes. Both characters learn to open up the other as they go along and it slowly becomes more!

romance with a twist
I was surprised at how well the emotions were depicted. At more than one point in the book my eyes were tearing up. I was expecting a shallow book based on describing BDSM and not much else. I was pleasantly surprised. A deeply moving romance spiced up with BDSM accurately portrayed. well worth a read if you are open minded.

She's the boss in more ways than one.
Mel is fascinated by the woman who comes but always goes to a back table by herself and has a top shelf whiskey. Then one evening she comes to Mel's rescue from a obnoxious customer. Where things go from there make this a engrossing and well written story.
