Mighty Bright 87610 Lighted 5" Round Magnifier

The magnifier is very good at improving the visibility of small print. It is good for seeing fine detail. The large size makes it easy to use for reading and is sharp across the entire face. The LED adds some light to make it easier to read and the battery is easy to replace. The handle is a little short and my finger will sometimes block the light, but this is a minor distraction. It is too large to carry outside the house, but is light enough (it is plastic) to use frequently and for a long period of time. The large size is a big plus for reading and also works well on small items like stamps. The higher-power circle works well for occasional use, but is small and not as effective as a dedicated high-power magnifier. This magnifier is a very good value with fine performance at a very reasonable price.

Light is a bonus in many situations. Its large - but that's how I like it. An added benefit is the smaller extra-strong viewing area close to the light source which I find myself using often. In spite of its size, its not very heavy. I suspect that the "glass" may in fact be plastic - but for the price it not a big deal if it scratches more easily and needs to be replaced.

This is not the top of the line magnifying glass but for the money it works fine. It has a little light that does help if you are having difficulty seeing what you are trying to magnify in dim lighting. It is a good size so it covers a good portion of the page. It is not glass but it does scratch and I know this because the one I ordered was scratched when I took it out of the package. The scratch does not interfere with the magnification so I will keep it. For the price not bad

I keep this lighted magnifying glass within easy reach at my desk. The single LED light adds helpful illumination and is adequate for general use. It uses a AAA battery that is nestled in the underneath side of the handle. The 5" lens accommodates a wide viewing area--good for reading pages of exceptionally fine print. It has a small spot in the lens, near the handle, that displays greater magnification for viewing exceptionally small objects. I like it and consider it well worth its price.

Good but flawed. This is a pretty good magnifying glass, but it could be significantly better and it has one glaring problem: the handle is definitely too short to be held comfortably. This is such an obvious shortcoming that it is hard to imagine why it was designed this way--it couldn't have saved much money. The magnification rating seems a little optimistic to me for the main glass, and I do not think the small bifocal circle comes anywhere near the 6X that is claimed. The bifocal circle needs to be larger to be of much use. It is difficult to get into the battery compartment, particularly the first time. Be sure to notice that the battery is wrapped in clear plastic that must be removed before the light will work. I can imagine some situations where the built-in light could be handy, but it is not all that effective. I would have preferred them to skip the light and make the overall product better. It is frustrating that it is so difficult to find good products when looking for simple items like this. You have your choice of a lot of imported junk of questionable quality. In that context, this item looks better, although maybe a bit pricey, as it can at least be counted on to do a pretty good job. For what it's worth, I am keeping it, but it could and should have been made better.

what a great magnifier. It's much larger (probably 50% more surface area) than what you see in the stores or offered on other sites on the web. I was skeptical that the light would have any benefit but I'm a believer now. It's just right to illuminate a full line of text in a book or 2 columns of a newspaper article and it really does make the magnifier more useful.

I ordered this magnifier 3 days ago & I just received it today, I'm very pleased with this item. The lens allows for a very wide area to be viewed easily & its crystal clear the entire 5" diameter no blurriness at all. The magnifier comes with one AAA battery which once you remove the plastic wrapping around it the LED light is bright & it increases your ability for use a home or office setting. It also has a small area 6X bifocal for that little extra area of help. This will greatly help me at work reading blueprints w/o causing eyestrain. I highly recommend this magnifier to any & all who are looking for a little extra help reading at a very reasonable price...Well worth the money.

Nice, large magnifying glass. The built-in 6x bifocal lens is handy for extreme closeups, such as attempting to read the markings on antique silverware. The only quibble I have is that the handle is relatively small. The single LED bulb is in the base of the handle, and it feels like a nice ergonomic grip for the index finger. If I don't think about it, I wind up wrapping my finger over the light, which doesn't work too well if you need it to see. Other people have done the same thing, not realizing they are covering up the light. That said, it is very light weight, so it's still easy to hold after moving one's finger off the light.

Good product, delivered swiftly - size and weight work well - very useful to my 97 year old mother who has macular degeneration - for doing large print crosswords.

This is a very good product. It has a diameter of 5", which is really large, and every part of the lens magnifies perfectly with no blur at the edges whatsoever. Although large, it is designed to be very comfortable in the hand, and very lightweight to hold; and the LED is very bright in dark conditions. The glass magnifies - for example - the minute terms & conditions on the back of supermarket vouchers, rendering them really easy to read, and there isn't much that comes in smaller print than that....furthermore, there is a smallish area which magnifies many times over for examining things such as tiny hallmarks for example, and it works really well. I am so glad I spent the extra amount rather than buying a cheaper product and I very highly recommend this magnifier.

its too bulky for long time reading and the battery gets consumed pretty soon.
