I don't get the hate for this game
I don't get the hate for this game. It is not perfect (Ill get to that in a bit) but I think its great. For years everyone complained about the tank controls for Resident Evil. So they switched things up for Resident Evil 4, which debuted to great reviews and sales. Resident Evil 5 was a continuation of the style of 4 with 360/PS3 era graphics, and this game is an even more pumped up version of 5. There are 4 separate campaigns in this game, each with their own style. Leon's has crowds of zombies in an urban area, reminiscent of RE2. Chris's starts to introduce you to different morphing enemies, but is really more of a military type shooter more in line with RE5. Jake's campaign is more like Resident Evil 3 with a Nemesis type creature that you have to deal with the entire campaign. I must confess I havent made it through Ada's campaign but from what I hear it has more puzzle solving. The result is that what you get 4 games in one in what amounts to a greatest hits version of Resident Evil. The graphics are the best the series has seen yet, and probably rank among the best of the 360/PS3 generation. The lighting effects in particular are outstanding. The fluid animations for the various grotesque enemies are an accomplishment as well. The controls are the same as Resident Evil 4 and 5. I do have a few complaints here. First, there are a few times where the game takes control of the camera when it wants you to look at something while you are still in control of a character. This is a mistake on the part of the developers. A game should NEVER do this. It creates a sense of nausea, because your body is expecting the camera to do one thing while you are pressing the stick but the game does another. This could have been easily fixed by taking control completely away from the player, letterboxing the screen (a visual cue that this is a cutscene), and showing what the dev wanted the player to look at. Fortunately these times are few and far between. Second niggle: In Chris's campaign there are a number of tight corridors, with many turns that do not fit well with the field of view of the camera, I hear that there is a title update where you can change the field of view of the camera. This is only an annoyance for one or two areas. Third niggle: I did not use the new cover system at all, and I found it to be a minor annoyance. Finally, this is not a traditional survival horror game. This is not a complaint of mine, but it seems to be a complaint of many RE fans out there. It is a action/horror game with an emphasis on the action. Lots of gunplay. There are a few vehicle/turret stages which are not the best parts of the game, but serve as a breather to break up the walk and shoot sections. Personally I recognize that these sections are there to give a little variety and found the change of pace welcome, even if the quality isnt as good as the shooting sections. I am giving this game 5 stars. I have been playing through the Resident Evil games that I had never played before lately. I played Resident Evil 2 on my Vita just before starting 6, and prior to that I played RE4, and the Revelations games. I enjoy them all and appreciate what they each brought to the table without having expectations on any of them. If you take this game on its merits and what is done well it is a great game. Not a perfect game, but a great one nonetheless.

A Fun Game
[...] when I opened the game I noticed right away there is no manual only a link to download one which I recommend since there are many new things you can do. I have played and beaten most RE games from 0 to 5 including both shooter chronicles on Wii and Outbreak + File 2. First off I have only played and beaten Leon's Campaign Solo and some online Coop on Normal difficulty after around 8 hours or so. I honestly think if you liked resident evil 4 and 5 you will enjoy this game. The feeling of struggle was there like in 4 and the coop was addicting and fun even better than 5. I mean RE was only scary around the same time Silent Hill was scary and the only reason they were scary was because you as the player were limited in what you could do like in Clocktower or Haunting Ground. Now both series are basically action games, this game however is actually fun and somewhat realistic in that when melee attacking you can take weapons from the zombies and use them against them and other zombies because in real life you would do anything just to survive and everything can be your weapon. I just wish it was like in RE Outbreak and File 2. GAMEPLAY There are some new things you can do such as dodge and melee when you want, just don't overuse melee like I did because it uses your stamina up. The crouch/hide feature is nice but I only used it a few times. Everyone has been complaining about the gameplay being pure action but from what I played there were some times in Leon's campaign where you had to think what to do such as figuring out codes to open the right doors because open the wrong ones and you end up fighting unnecessary battles. Most of the time I was running away to conserve ammo. Also there are varied enemies mostly zombies in Leon's story so I never got bored. Health Items are sometimes hard to come by and you might have to discard items to be able to have room for mixing later on. This time around you don't upgrade weapons but you can use skill points to buy or upgrade many useful skills to be equipped. I've also seen reviewers bash the quicktime events for being to prevalent but when I played I felt they fit right with the story and weren't to difficult, and from what I've played they are not anywhere near the annoying/unexpected Krauser cutscene in RE 4 because even when I died the button presses were the same where RE 4 switched them up. Boss fights in this game have been awesome, and their design makes me wonder how crazy the full models and rigs must have been to create as some of the things they do reminds me of the new THING movie. COOP After I beat Leon's story single player I still wanted more so I joined another person at the end and helped them beat Leon's last chapter, the coop was very fun and we both saw/got different items from drops so there is no stealing items from each other which is great. As others have said, this is honestly the best game I've played this year and probably the last new one for awhile. CONS The only bad things I thought when I played were a few times I died because the AI partner couldn't sync with me to open a door to escape from enemies because they were to busy fighting/being attacked which would then cause me to be attacked by an endless horde you need to run from. The other was just not knowing how to do some actions due to a lack of a physical game manual. Not really a bad thing just something I've noticed with many games these days is final bosses usually have more lives than Liquid Snake and cats combined. Reminds me of The Last Story and Xenoblade Chronicles for this aspect. STORY Just like all the other RE games expect the characters to survive the impossible and end up with a Helicopter lol I mean that's just canon by now right? Some other reviews said the game gives the characters no direction, I disagree because once Leon and his new girl(how many has he had now?) find out who was responsible killing that person is the goal. The story I've seen so far is interesting in that I can clearly see each campaign is different and I want to see how somethings happened because you meet most of the other characters near the end of Leon's journey. Plus, you only see Leon's ending who knows what happened to Chris or Jake unless you play their campaigns. So I can tell you aren't playing the exact same locations or story just with different characters the entire game. The characters intersected briefly and then separated again making me want to see more. GRAPHICS/AUDIO No complaints The graphics are nice to look at, the music fit with the mood of the game, and I had no problem with the voice acting. FINAL VERDICT 4.6/5 Just what I would expect and want from a new RE game and beyond in some parts. At the very least give it a try if you liked RE 4 or 5, honestly if you never played or cared for those games why would you this one? By now you don't play this series to get scared anymore, you play it because it's a fun zombie killing experience with some friends if needed. I am a die hard fanboy of this series and yeah I wish they could bring it back to how it was in the past but I still enjoy where it is going. Besides let's just face it the newer generation of gamer is where the market for games is and they prefer games like CoD where all you do is run and push R1 with mediocre graphics and where every gun is the same weight. One last note to all those who say this game is a bloated mess. Really? If I am paying good money for something I would expect it to be grandiose, and that I get my money's worth rather than something I play for an hour and never play again. Finally most critics don't even understand or appreciate the amount of work that goes into making something like this, they just run through it for the sake of a review, while I can stop and turn the camera to see the detailed environments and enemies. Capcom could have easily said let's just reuse old stuff like in CoD games but instead they chose to challenge themselves, when I played I could tell everything is new and made just for this game.

Critics too harsh on this one
It is simply sad how some folks have given this game one star simply because they either don't like Capcom or other personal reasons. I personally despise Capcom for the cheap tactics they have used in the past. Therefore, I bought this game only after it got a bit cheaper. Now that I have played it, I have to say it is nowhere near as bad as people describe. On the contrary, it is a great game. **********************To start with pros.********************** -Decent Graphics and Great Character Design (for most part): Not much to say here. You must have seen trailers etc., as far as I can say the game looks great and most character other than Ada are very nicely design. -Four Different Campaigns and Seven Different Characters: To me this was pretty impressive. There are 3 different campaigns that you play with a pair of characters (Leon and Halena; Chris and Piers; Jake and Sherry) and Ada gets her own campaign. In each campaign, both characters have different personalities and moves. Their weapons are also slightly different and at times they travel using different paths. I personally loved this. This adds so much replayability to the game. -Very Personal Stories: There are 4 different stories of 4 campaigns that intersect at many points. Stories in each campaign are very personal to characters of those campaigns and honestly made me sad for those characters especially for Chris. Finishing the 4 campaigns will give basic idea, but if you want to learn about the events in more details you can collect the blue medallions to unlock files that have detailed description of events. -Believable Voice Acting: I like the voice acting in this game. Definitely makes the story more dramatic and personal. -Great Variety in Campaigns: In this game there will be parts where bullets will be scarce and you will be surviving hordes of Zombie attacks and other parts where you will have plenty of explosives and you will be fighting hoards of zombies, huge monster and/or bosses. In addition, you also have some vehicle gameplay in some levels which for most part is very entertaining. -Awesome Melee Combos and Quick Shots: I strongly suggest that player learn this early in the game as the game does not necessarily teaches you. This are fun to you and will make your experience much more enjoyable. -Nicely Designed Bosses: This is a must for me, especially in Resident Evil games. I loved the creation of main bosses in this game. Each campaign has multiple bosses, but the final bosses for each campaigns are the best. Personally loved the main boss for Leon/Halena . Very creative design. -Fun Online Modes: OK online gameplay is no Halo or COD, but still is quite fun. Like RE5, you can play story mode with a friend or do the same with Mercenary mode (You and a friend surviving hoards). Agent Hunk mode is interesting as you can invade other player's game (with their consent) as a creature. -Great Length and Replayability: I like to explore each level rather than just run through the story so it took me well >25 hrs to finish the game. At least on the normal mode, you can't rush through the campaign. Enemies and Quicktime events will punish you if you do so. And as I describe above due to number and variability of characters, this game has great replayability. Also campaign is interesting enough to make you play again. RPG element: Not necessary but is good to have. If you shoot enough enemies and search enough you acquire skill point with which you can get different perks making game easier and fun as you play along. Cut Scene Gallery: If you don't want to play the whole game again and just want to watch cutscenes. You have that option. LOVE IT and I hope more games have such cutscene replay options. **********************Now the Cons.********************** Too Dark at Points: I get it that this game is supposed to be creepy/scary but it is just way too dark at few points (especially Leon's campaign). At least after the enemy surprises me I should be able to see it. I tried adjusting brightness et., but no use. Too many Quicktime Events: I loved the quick time events in Resident Evil 4, but think this game has way too many of them. And some quick time events are punishment to your hands and controller. They should ease up on these in future games. Seriously. Fortunately, there are a few ways to turn some off them off (Amateur level and a skill I believe). Ada Wong: I have liked Ada in previous RE games and movies, but they have COMPLETELY MESSED UP her character design in this game. The voice acting and dialogues are also very poor. Her campaign is short which is fine as it is supposed to be complementary anyways, but her final boss and endings are very disappointing. **********************Conclusion********************** Contrary to the cons I described, this is a great game overall and is an experience you probably don't want to miss. Now that it is cheaper than before, I would definitely buy it and give it a shot.

Good game with buzzkill moments.
I have been a longtime Resident Evil fan. I definitely liked the classics more than the ones I do today, because of the focus on survival horror rather than action with horror elements. The tense feeling you get when you had no ammo, no healing items, and had to run through enemies built like tanks that could kill you in a few hits. With these newer Resident Evil titles, you have more than enough healing items, a good supply of ammo, and enemies that usually have a weakness rendering them to a couple of shots before they drop. This current Resident Evil title tried to capture that survival horror element at times, but quickly shifted you into more fast paced gameplay. The problem I have with this is, as soon as you begin to really like a certain part of chapter your playing, the game diverts you from that. For instance you can be in an enclosed, darkened area with limited ammo against a greater amount of enemies or just a more resilient enemy type. This is fine, but as soon as you end this particular section, you are then thrown into an on rails need for speed type game. You are literally in a vehicle either chasing someone or gunning down enemies while chasing someone. In terms of pacing, there was no build up to it. You just instantly go from survival horror to straight action in a matter of seconds. There were many times this happened when I asked myself, "What am I playing, is this really Resident Evil?" Another thing I didn't like was the momentum. Even though this is not a fighting game, momentum can still be important. Those times when your playing a game at a heightened level; none of your shots are missing, you're dodging all of your enemies attacks, basically everything's going right. But then the game throws a cutscene at you which completely stops what you're doing. Since the game constantly moves in real time, when a cutscene is over the enemy will be right in your face and basically land a free hit without you being ready for the attack coming. While you can't move during these sections, enemies can. Another minor annoyance is the amount of QTE's, or button timed sequences. These events have you press buttons at certain events on the screen in order to advance, much like God of War if you've played that. The problem with them in this game is that they're overdone, and not even necessary. There were some sections in which the game could've just simply gave you a cutscene showing you what happened. Instead you have to "search for keys in a car" in order to operate it, but without a timed-sequence on the event it's not threatening, so you're kind of just there looking around while zombies pound on your car, but can't get to you at all. That ruins the panic feeling there trying to engage the player in, if I know I have all the time in the world to find these keys and these zombies will never ever get me, why don't I just take my time instead... If you happen to be playing this game alone with the cpu partner instead of a co-op partner locally or online, be prepared to have some level of frustration with the cpu partner. If you're dying, either they are really good at reviving you, or will literally stand right next to you and the let the enemy kill you. While you're shooting away at other enemies, and an enemy approaches your blind spot, your partner will stand behind you and not even attempt to shoot the enemy approaching you. Small problem, but maybe I'm just nitpicking there. The real fun of the game comes in the minigame known as mercenaries, in which you kill as many as enemies as you can within the time limit. You can gain more time by finding bonus timers, and killing enemies a certain way. This is where the real replay value of the game comes in. The mode uses multiple characters from the game's campaign, as well as some hidden ones. There is another mode known as agent hunt mode, where you can be the monsters in the game and attack another online's players session and try to kill them for points. Would I recommend this game? Yes, but not at full price. If it's less than $30 then go for it. It has upcoming downloadable content on the way which should provide more replay value as well. Overall it's a decent game, but as a Resident Evil it needs to stick to being what made it great, rather than trying to be multiple games under the same title. Multiple characters and campaigns is no excuse for throwing in concepts from other games and implementing them poorly into each campaign individually.

Great game overall
People will always complain about what they want in games. I personally enjoyed the game, and it is superior to resident evil 5 in almost every way. You can sprint, you couldn't in part 5. Nor could you roll to the sides or behind you, or roll forward. You can now dodge by ducking quick, running into a slide or dodge jumping backwards onto the ground and shoot while doing it all. Enemies can be shot in the head and be attacked in different ways: punches, roundhouse kickes, head twists, suplex, back hands, etc. If you continue to tap both triggers on your control, you will do a flashy move and lock on, stun or completely wipe out enemies all around you if they are close enough. I highly recommend doing this with Leon (only character that can dual handgun AKA this guy is a boss), or Helena (triple barrel shotgun anyone? shes the real boss) In other words, the gameplay has been vastly improved since the last installment. None of these reviews touch on the voice acting, which is very good. The sound effects are second to none, and the soundtrack is very good however they could use it more as I felt some parts of the game were lacking in moments. You can do different characters campaigns, I highly enjoyed Leon's the most as it is nostalgic, some parts will remind you of the monster that is Resident Evil 4, and slight doses here and there of Resident Evil 2. It is suspenseful and mysterious. Sometimes downright creepy, not scary, but mostly fun. It will be a horror thriller. For that alone I give the game 5 stars, not because I prefer that style of gaming more, but because it is the most well made. They have a niche for it, hell they began the genre in games, these guys excel in it. The more action style feels rushed, clunky and unperfected, you might feel this in the Chris campaign. It is some fun as you will definitely be shooting a lot more. The game also features a clunky duck and cover system by hiding behind walls and such, which is interesting but I found it hard to master. More times often than not, it will be better to just shoot an enemy without cover, or stand behind a wall. A welcome addition to the series...they include a new character Jake, who has his own campaign and I found it enjoyable because it is a great blend of action and suspense, but mostly because the guy can beat up anything with his hands. In fact, his hands are a weapon, literally...in the weapon select screen. Another high point of the game is the co-op. While you will probably enjoy this in full screen glory (unless you play online), I played the game split screen and found it much more enjoyable with a partner. The co-op feature is a vast improvement with slight flaws ( too much quick -time button pressing events ) but is a definite plus to have that feeling of accomplishment when beating the level and defeating enemies with someone to share the burden (or blessing?). Be sure to try out mercenaries mode as it will keep you playing long after the end of all the campaigns. theres other game modes and one more campaign but I will not touch on these as I have yet to experience them enough for review. The graphics are excellent. Some of the best I have seen in recent games. The story is great, however it plays out the best in the Leon campaign, it has the best story telling and gameplay, period. Overall, I give the game a 4.5, not perfect because it has its flaws.

Phenomenal game with a few hiccups and far too many trolls.
The anthology includes Resident Evil 1-5 via code that can be redeemed on the Playstation Store; which is about the only negative thing that can be said about this product. The game itself trounces Resident Evil 5 in just about every possible way. Though I think 5 had slightly better graphics, 6 had a much better atmosphere and plays better with its improved controls. You can now move while aiming--an extremely belated and necessary feature that unfortunately still does not pull off as good as its other action-horror contemporary Dead Space. The game also removes the tank-like controls from all previous installments with a more proverbial 3d movement. Though the game has improved controls, they do have a bit of a learning curve with its wonky cover system and its slide/dive mechanic. It's strange and weird, but very rewarding once you get better at it. In terms of its story, there's not much to write home about. It's Resident Evil. Any fan of the series knows that it's never excelled in the storytelling department and this one is no exception. Some of the dialogue is extremely cheesy and the whole 3 campaign story doesn't reveal much at all--until you play the 4th 'secret' campaign, which clears up a few loose ends but overall doesn't do much. In the end I still found the story to be much more satisfying than Resident Evil 5's awful story. The old and new characters are great too, and some of the development and relationships between some of them are done well, particularly the partnership between the old character Chris and newcomer Piers. The game itself is a hell of a lot of fun to play. It still features the same behind the character 3rd person scheme that Resident Evil 4 made so popular and the many subsequent games that emulated it. It now has a fully 3d rotating camera which is great too. The game is split into 4 campaigns, each with differing slightly in style. Leon's campaign is much more dark, slow paced; Chris' is all out-action; Jake's is the more varietal and more in the lines of the Uncharted games, while Ada's campaign tries to enforce a little bit of stealth. All offer a great change of pace in styles but may over saturate in the action sequences. The game features QTE (Quick Time Events), which have caught a lot of flak but really isn't all that bad except when a certain enemy (just one type, you only encounter him a few times) grabs hold of you, you must rotate the left stick around really fast--and unless you know beforehand that it's going to happen, it's almost impossible to overcome--which is not a good thing for first time players. The game also features a skill point system taking over the currency system from RE4 and 5. The skills work like perks from the Call of Duty games and can be improved by collecting skill points from fallen enemies. The game is not overly difficult, exceedingly long (which is not a bad thing ;) ) and has good re playability. Overall, judging this game for what it is, an action game with horror elements, is superbly done in giving you an entertaining roller coaster ride. Lastly in addition, the game does a good job in the music and voice acting departments (albeit with the pretty awful dialogue I mentioned). This is a high, production value video game that delivers action to the fullest-- and if you're looking to relive the classics (which are still the better games, in my opinion--particularly the first 3) you can relive the terror or experience the series for the first time to get a feel for what made the franchise so beloved. RE6 has come a long way from it's first installment from it's survival horror elements and tank-like controls, to it's revolutionary behind the character camera feature in RE4. Though some hate the change and others embrace it, Resident Evil 6 by itself without any affiliation with the previous installments is a great game and one the best in 2012.

RE4, RE5 review, and a RE6 review+comparison
I really don't understand why everyone hates on RE5. It makes no sense to me! Think about this for a second. RE4 and RE5 were basically the same game except for the fact that RE5's gameplay was more perfected. I liked RE4, dont get me wrong. BUT SURELY IT IS NOT MY FAVORITE RE GAME! I mean come on! I can't tell you how many times I got angered in RE4 because Leon could jump over huge gaps in the ground when he ran away from Salazar's statue, yet he cannot jump over small wooden ledges! Let alone the fact that when you knocked a villager on the ground in RE4, you could not stomp his face. Little things that I feel Capcom forgot to implement in RE4. Even before RE4 released, I remembered being able to stomp off a Zombies face in RE1-3... Why could I not do it in RE4? Dumb! DUMB DUMB DUMB! RE5 took RE4's gameplay and perfected it. And to top it all off.. RE5 had Co Op, re-play value, plenty of unlockable weapons and you finally got to fight Wesker! RE5 is honestly my third favorite in the series. That was my RE4 and RE5 comparison, however RE6.. NOW you can tell me that there is a change in the series. RE6 has a'lot more actionish moments. That's a given, but you also have to understand that times change. With Call of Duty being like everything in the industry.. Capcom needs to make something that can compete with CoD or they would lose their business. And honestly, I would love a crappy RE game that could eventually lead to perfection over Capcom losing business and never making another RE game again. Who knows? Maybe this game along with ORC (Operation Raccoon City) is one big experiment that could lead to another so called "Amazing Game such as Resident Evil 4." Keep an open mind here, something good may come out of this yet. It is too early to tell. My main complaint about this game, I played a good 2:44 minutes of the game and I am hoping I am halfway through Chapter 2 with Leon. And I am noticing that a majority of the objectives are "Eliminate all Zombies". Fun at first, but get's a little overwhelming and repetitive after a'while. I just hope the entire game is not like this. Overall, the gameplay is good, controls are great, not as clunky as everyone really makes them out to be.. For crying out loud people, it is THE SAME CONTROLS FROM RE1-4!!! I am not crazy about the Skills thing, I miss the weapon and upgrade shop. But it isn't a huge deal. Overall, I think the game is pretty good. It is worth a shot.

Worst RE game yet
RE6 is the worst RE game yet, excluding Operation RC because that was not Capcom. The 1 star is mostly for RE6, but also packaging/presentation. RE4 and CVX and RE5 Gold are all DLC from XBL. For 90 dollars you'd have been better off with actual discs. Degeneration is a disc, but it comes in the RE6 case. I already own RE4 HD and RE5 Gold, so the only things I got out of it were CVX and Degen. Still though, 90 dollars for 2 decent games, 2 s***ty games, and 1 good movie is a decent deal. Packaging is nothing special, it has a lame cardboard sleeve and everything (3 discs) is in one case, with paper inserts for DLC codes. America got screwed as usual on the retail editions, not featuring anything extra worth the pricetag, while Europe got special features - you'll find nothing extra here, maybe a map for mercenaries. If you don't already own CVX HD, RE4 HD, RE 5 Gold, and Degeneration, you're pretty much getting them at $7.50 a piece - you won't beat those prices at GameStop - maybe pre-owned online - especially for CVXHD and RE4HD which can only be purchased online, after you take away the $60 for RE6. It was a fun game, yea, at times. The game mechanics are terrible, the enemies are honestly too easy after you get used to the game, the plot is non-existent, the characters again show no development whatsoever from their multiple previous appearances, and the story is never explained at any point in time. As if that was bad enough, the story continues - once again - as it has in other recent entries, as if none of the previous lore of the franchise ever happened. The only good campaign is Ada Wong's, and you'll be robbed of that if you buy it now (after the first month or so following release), because there's an update that lets you jump straight to her campaign, and it gives her a partner. I think you don't have to use the partner but regardless, the entire allure of her campaign is that you had to beat a bad game in order to play and be rewarded by the good game. It does have some decent parts - the AI is significantly less terrible than RE5, and pretty much can't die. And as always, mercenaries is the best part. If you already own the games and don't have enough faith in Capcom to give them another chance - this is the last one for me - I would seriously wait until this is in the bargain bin for about 10 dollars. It may never happen due to inflated, undeserved market value from GameStop and "media journalists" and the self-esteem lacking fan-boys who perpetuate this franchise's lifeline, but it seems to me that a lot of too-popular-to-fail games have bit the dust lately, such as Ninja Gaiden 3 - terrible game, so it may indeed be possible. I mean seriously, I see other customer reviews on here where people are giving it 4 stars or 9/10 and people are "finding the review helpful." Please for the love of god, do some research before you buy. Look up BrokenGamezHD videos on YouTube, regarding RE6 - he is dead on. Read alternate websites. The game is like a less terrible version of Raccoon City and that game is abysmally, irredeemably broken. Slant Six doesn't even know how to fix it it's so broken, and they've admitted it. If you're honest and you like RE and you've played all the games, yes, you have to admit maybe the story was "KIND OF" ridiculous from the start. It actually wasn't, at all - as sci-fi stories go, it was good, but you had to give it some leeway after 239 different strains of virus and one infected lab after another - especially Resident Evil 3 onward, where they ruined the story and franchise permanently. The story makes no sense. They do not ever explain what happened - how anything happened - why anything happened. If the explanation is not directly in a cutscene, there isn't one. They utterly ignore all previously established canon and even BLATANTLY put in incorrect quotes in the game - for example, Chris says he met up with his sister on Rockfort island. No he did not. That NEVER happened. Not in the novel, not in CV, not in CVX, not in CVXHD, not in Darkside Chronicles. Not in any iteration of the story. They reunited in Antarctica, not Rockfort. Play the game. Chris does not see her ever until Antarctica. And there are plenty of other unacceptable storyline problems - the people who made this game have never even played Resident Evil, that's offensively obvious within 5 minutes. By the way, remember how Leon worked for the president in RE4? Which took place in 2004? Or 5? Yea, well, he still works for the same president - and the game takes place in 2013 (part of it in 2012) I don't know what America Capcom has been to but last time I checked, the max a president can be elected to, since FDR was elected to 4 terms, was 2 terms - they could serve 10 years if they became president due to succession over a dead or resigned/impeached one. So for that to make any sense, RE4 would have had to take place in oh, January, which I'm pretty sure it didn't because last time I checked, it does snow in Spain. Meaning he couldn't still be the president because Leon's campaign takes place at the end of the RE6 timeframe, in 2013. So he's been president for over 8 years. "What if it was a different president before?" you say, feeling that I'm thinking way too hard about it. No, it's alluded to pretty thoroughly, because Adam and Leon are very good friends, that they've been friends for that entire time period he's worked for "the president", because he worked for the president. In addition to that, in the Leon campaign, for example - they try shamelessly to cram down your throat the fact that they tried really hard to make it seem like Resident Evil 2 - Leon REPEATEDLY says out loud "ITS JUST LIKE RACCOON CITY!!" and so do others. We get it Capcom, you want us to think it's like Resident Evil 2, except the city full of infected people and creepy s*** - that's one chapter and part of another, out of the entire game - even combined with an infected city in two other campaigns. Here's the problem. It's nothing at all like Raccoon City, or Resident Evil 1 and 2 and 3 and CVX and Outbreak and even Zero - not in the slightest bit. There is not a single creepy moment - not a single scary moment. In fact, hardly even a thrilling moment outside of a limited few parts scattered throughout the four campaigns. I honestly am convinced that when they say "it's just like Raccoon City" "it's like Raccoon all over again", what they actually mean is "It's just like that god awful game Operation Raccoon City" because it is. It plays and feels just like Raccoon City, 99.99 percent - the only part that doesn't is the fact that people actually die when you headshot them (most times) in RE6, unlike raccoon city where you literally could shoot a human enemy - not a zombie or B.O/W - in the head 7 times with a .50 caliber anti-material rifle , and they would still be alive. More you say? The game looks like crap on both 360 and PS3. The graphics are noticeably worse than Resident Evil 5, a game that came out years earlier. There is no way to upgrade your guns - you can use perks but that's it. There are no gun shops, no merchants. There aren't really even any minigames. All of the enemies are inevitable derivatives of previous enemies, and that's not really anything new, except not a single one of them brings a new challenge to the game, except for the resident evil revelations enemies. Half of them are just zombies, each with different weapons. Oh and did I mention army/swat zombies with assault rifles? In addition to the plagas with guns? Yea. There's also another wonderfully awful part of the game, that prevents you from enjoying the multiplayer. If you try to join a game session, and the other player doesn't accept, it doesn't take you back to the game session list where you try to join from. It kicks you out of mutliplayer entirely, then you have to open it again and wait another maybe 20 or 30 seconds for it to find games. So to even play one game session with people not on your friends list, it will take you 5 or 10 minutes just to find a partner. Let's not forget that the entire game is a quicktime event. Unlike previous games where the QTEs were just a stupid way to put in filler cutscenes - everything in the game is QTE. There are jokes and memes that in the new ultra hard mode, you'll have to do a QTE every time you want to use your gun. It's funny, but it's not a stretch. If a zombie grabs you, quicktime event - with the added fun that now the zombie also has a progress bar in addition to your progress bar, and you have to fill yours before the enemy does or they kill/maim you. What's the best part of that? The HARD enemies are easier to break free from than the zombies. There are also extended quick time button mashers where you have to do it for literally minutes at a time. You know what, I'm a hardcore/whatever term you want to use gamer. I've played video games for over 20 years. I'm good at games. I'm also getting old and maybe my hands don't work anymore but I can't do control stick rotating for 5 minutes straight without my thumbs breaking down. It's absurd. But wait, there's more. Certain sections of the game, one in specific, are based entirely on QTE, except you still have to control the character at the same time, and you're on a time limit, but that time limit isn't shown. If you're reading this and have beaten the game long ago, you know what part of Chris's campaign I'm talking about. Add to that the bad camera, and it's the most frustrating part of the entire game and you'll hate yourself for ever playing it. And it's ridiculous, because the camera in the game is actually halfway decent in most situations. If you're an employed adult - which I imagine you are if you are shelling out the money for overpriced games these days - I would seriously not buy this game unless it's the archives/anthology version, it's a waste of money. The only thing that makes the purchase worth it, for either PS3 or 360, is that you get multiple games for your money, so it's a deal. Unless you already own all the games, which you probably do - I have them all, i just didnt have CVXHD on xbox because I didn't want to pay for the online price. You'll honestly have more fun watching Degeneration over and over again than ever putting this horrid game disc in your system. There is nothing exciting, fresh, challenging, different, or new about this game - unless you consider mashing together RE4, RE5, OP Raccoon City, Gears of War, and [any other 3rd person shooter] to be new. Everything is derivative, unapologetic, boring, frustrating, unrewarding, shallow, and just miserable. I knew this would be the case going in to the game - most people who aren't morons did, but then again the people who like this game aren't sane or actual game/Resident Evil fans.
