What keeps this in place? I don't see straps or belt loops? Is it an elastic waistband or velcro?

Velcro all around the waist. I run in mine sometimes with compression shorts under. Works very well I’ve done up to 10 miles in mine just training runs but I know some people that do ultras wearing them.

Does this have pockets?

Yes, there is one hidden stash pocket in the front. At our store, we can customize them with hidden side pockets for $20

What type of fabric is used in the construction of these kilts? Can you give us the fiber content (including percentages)?

It’s microfiber. 330 gram, for light weight and quick drying. According to their website

Great hiking kilt

Fits great, hangs nice, the way it wraps it covers you up well, and the microfiber dries quickly. It washed perfect, the pleats stayed crisp and the fabric was not wrinkled. If you want to wear something breathable and loose while hiking, give a kilt a try. You'll definitely start a few conversations :-)

It give you flexibility while hiking wish it had an external pocket, however. It has only one pocket, and it is internal
