RoadTrip Rocker

I really like the concept of the GCI Outdoor RoadTrip Rocker because it combines the convenience of a portable folding chair with the comfort of being able to rock. It's a nice alternative to a basic camping chair, especially if you're going to be sitting for longer periods of time. The chair has a tall back and armrests, which gives it more of a substantial seating design than some of the smaller, basic folding chairs. The rocking feature is what really makes it stand out, though. You get that relaxing rocking-chair feel in a design that's actually meant to be portable and used outdoors. I also like how versatile this style of chair is. Camping may be the obvious use, but I could see it being just as useful for sporting events, sitting around a fire, outdoor concerts, backyard gatherings, or anywhere else you normally bring your own folding chair. It's nice to have something that offers a little more comfort for those situations. Another benefit is that it folds, so you're not dealing with a full-size outdoor rocking chair when you need to transport or store it. That's a big part of the appeal for me. If you're deciding between this and a standard folding camp chair, the rocking function is the feature that would make me choose this one. It takes a familiar portable chair design and makes it much more enjoyable for relaxing outdoors. A solid option for anyone who spends a lot of time sitting outside and wants something beyond the typical basic camp chair.

A friend brought this chair over one day and I was so impressed that I had to order one. Bag chairs are good for being portable and sitting in for a short time. This chair is sturdy, is also a rocking chair, and has a small fold out side table. This is now my go to chair for the deck. Our other bag chairs are now collecting dust. Being able to rock is a bonus for when you need to be sitting in the chair for extended periods of time. Especially for older folks.

I sell at flea markets around the area and wanted a comfortable chair for when I could sit for a minute. These chairs are fantastic. The leg that stabilizes the chair when you are getting out of it is just what this 60 year old needs. I love the rocking motion. Let's not forget the net backing that allows for air flow, perfect for hot days. Very sturdy construction, light weight and great price

I bought this chair primarily for one reason to fit into the trunk of my C8 Corvette convertible I go to a lot of car shows, and most folding chairs are very uncomfortable ,a friend of mine had one of these chairs. I sat in it, and I said if this fits into my trunk of my Corvette, I’m getting it so we tried his chair in my trunk and hallelujah. It fit in my trunk so any of you guys out there that have C8 Corvettes convertibles it’ll fit in your trunk. It’s a wonderful chair. It’s comfortable. I highly recommend it.

Love this rocking chair! I think this version is better than the original because of how tall the back of the chair is! Many of my friends have the OG one and after trying both, I do think the updates to this version of the chair is very noticeable. When rocking, it makes a big difference to be able to sit back on the chair and have my head on the back of the chair instead of the first one stopping below the shoulder blades. It is pretty big, but It's not very heavy so it definitely can be moved around. You just need to get the hang of closing it and opening it again. Overall, love this chair. it's great quality and very sturdy. I got the green color and I love it! So outdoorsy!

After my recent right shoulder surgery, I could not get out of a traditional camp chair that had a sunken canvas seat and canvas sling armrests. My son had to stand in front of me with his arm out and let me pull myself up with my left hand. It was difficult because the sunken seat was so much lower than my knees and I could only use my left arm to help me get up. I did extensive research before deciding to purchase the GCI Outdoor Road-trip Camper Chair. My primary reasons for purchasing this chair were: The solid arms of this chair give me a solid base to lift myself up from with one arm while wearing a cumbersome right-arm sling. The flat seat supports my body on a flat base making it easier to get up. The front edge doesn’t cut into my thighs like those “fall into” canvas buckets of most other camp chairs. The flat seat gives greater support to my lower back and reduces undue pressure on my lower spine (degenerative disc disease). The height of the chair seat works great for me (5’1”) and I think it will work well for others who are taller too, because the chair seat is a more normal height, unlike traditional sink into bucket camp chairs. You won’t be sorry for purchasing the taller seat back if you sit any length of time in a chair. The higher back offers greater support for my back and neck (2 cervical disc surgeries). The rocking motion will make it more comfortable to sit through lengthy baseball tournaments and easier on my spine. The movement will decrease back stiffness due to sitting in one position for a prolonged length of time. I wasn’t looking for a rocking chair, so that is a bonus. It also seems like it has greater strength and stability due to the specialized rocking design. While I can’t open and close it (temporary) due to restrictions of after surgery physical therapy, others can do that for me. My at-home physical therapist opened it for me the first time and tried it out too. She was impressed with how easy it was to open up, how comfortable it was and how easy it was to sit down and get out of. I can now easily sit down and get up with just my left arm. BTW: After I ordered it, I found it in an online store somewhat cheaper. While I didn’t know this when I purchased it, I’m still one happy camper and soon to be one even happier ballpark fan.
