Great product
We had a lot of rain in May and June of this year. I went around property looking for standing water and water in my animal troughs. These granules kill mosquito larvae and believe me keeps the mosquitoes at bay. We also put them in any potted plant pots that we have. Controls larvae that will Jay hatch in just moist plant soil.

Definitely works!
I have used this product for two different infestations of fungus gnats and IT WORKS!! Not sure what is going on with the potting soil nowadays but both times the infestation happened after a houseplant was repotted in new soil. I have a lot of houseplants so a gnat infestation can become a real problem real fast. Isolate the plant and follow the directions on the bag. My experience has been that youโll need to do the treatment twice as listed in the instructions. Well worth the time if you want to save a favorite house plant or plants.

Should workโฆ.seems to have helped.
I think it helped. The true effectiveness will only be demonstrated when a few life cycles of no-see-ums will have passed. It was easy to use (spread on loose soil or grass in damp or wet areas) and wait. The bacteria should infect the soil or runoff, and kill any hatched eggs. With luck, the bacteria will persist for several weeks, if not longer. Since only flies and mosquitos are affected (and possibly tics?), it should be safe for kids and pets, and pretty environmentally friendly. After a couple of seasons of use, I expect the gnats to be much less of a problem, though not eliminated completely. (They fly in from the surrounding woods.)

Works very well for controlling Mosquito larvae
Ive used Summit Mosquito Bits about three or four times now and have been very pleased with how well they work. They're very easy to apply, and we've had quite a few (very aggressive) mosquitos showing up in our yard as we have a lot of plants and grass. I've found them especially useful in areas that stay damp or hold water, since that where mosquitos tend to lay their eggs. One method that has worked well for me is putting a couple of spoonfuls in a bucket of water (throw in a little vegitation) and place it in an area where mosquitos tend to be a little more active. I try to keep it in an in conspicuous location so it doesn't disturb my wife's plant chi ๐. One thing to understand is that Bits don't kill the adult mosquitos themselves. They work on the mosquito larvae in the water, which breaks the breeding cycle. After using them several times, Ive found them to work very well for our situation and cut down the population immensely. I would definitely recommend them.

Didnโt work as advertised
I bought new pots for all my house plants. I bought a lot of Miracle Grow potting Soil for succulents as well as some for indoor plants. Started seeing gnats and thought OK, get something to kill them. The bags must have been loaded with egg larvae because all my newly reported plants were infested with fungus gnats. Itโs winter time and too cold outside for my indoor plants. Didnโt kill the gnats or eggs/larvae in the dirt. Donโt waste your money. PS. This problem with gnats has never happened to me before and Iโve had potted plants in my house for years.

Fungus Gnats
This product will help Control fungus gnats but not necessarily rid you of them forever. I have a large number of house plants and a couple treatments will pretty much rid me of them. If you introduce a new plant or new soil you will have a higher rate of re-infestation. Iโm currently struggling with a high infestation from the bags of soil I purchased for my flower and vegetable seedlings. Those little suckers feed on your seedlings roots and will quickly kill your tender plants. I find that I have to use the Mosquito Bits for every other watering to keep the gnats under control in my greenhouse. Soak 4 Tablespoons of bits in a gallon of warm water for no less than half hour. I stir it every few minutes. Strain off ALL of the bits and give your plants a good drink. (The bits will mold if left on your soil). You cannot store the solution beyond about a day so plan accordingly. The used bits are supposed to be safe to put in your compost. They are just a carrier medium. Good luck!

Fungus gnats
Used in my fungus gnat elimination protocol. Works well, but for really bad infestations I would go straight to the chemical stuff first, and then use this to keep it under control.

Didn't receive order
Mosquito bits are great, they really do the job well on fungus gnats in my experience. Unfortunately though, I didn't receive my order. I did get a refund but the product isn't available anymore except for astronomical prices so I'm left stuck without any mosquito bits and a growing population of fungus gnats ruining my expensive plants.
