Awesome Game
If you enjoy being challenged and your nerves shredded this is the game for you. Yes, the reviews are correct, there are glitches but the company does frequent updates (one a month approximately) to fix the issues and add new content. Some people complain that the game is too difficult but if you pay attention and mind what works you can be successful. I have played the game almost daily for a couple of hours and am at level 22, and I am playing solo. Teaming up makes the game more fun and manageable but I love the solo challenge!

A real hidden treasure
I had followed this at first when it was announced but lost track until a week or two after its release. I absolutely love it. For consoles a lot of bugs have been patched. They keep in touch with their fans regularly and have weekly open discussions. They are still working on bug fixes and then after that they will work on content additions. For 40 bucks at release it was already almost half price for a game like this and I've played some AAA released that were just completely unplayable. This is not those. It has a great concept and I feel it will far exceed the others. Game play, it feels like a older game called STALKER only there are no npc's. You can feel the Call of The Wild in this game as well, as they made that also. There are members in their team that also made Mad Max and several others. The plot is similar to Red Dawn but with robots. And the world is vast and empty except for the robots and the birds, as it would be in the same situation. The questions you'll find yourself hunting until the early hours of the morning trying to find out what happened. It's not a adrenalin junkie game like Far Cry, so don't expect that. The pace is much slower. Some call it old school, which I love. It also has zero gore. There are some dead bodies you'll find far between, and some blatantly fake blood on them, but no gore. Overall, I absolutely love this game. Yes it's not perfect now, but now days nothing is at release and they are fixing things quite quickly. I'd recommend it, and if you can't handle a single bug then wait a month or two and get it. You definitely won't regret it.

If you love Terminator, you'll love this game!
This game is FANTASTIC! Great throwback to a "Terminator skynet" style fps/RPG! A must have for any gamer! Still glitchy, but works for the most part. A word of warning though, this game is impossible to play as a single player. It was designed as a multiplayer and as such that is the best way to be successful.

Beautiful fun but flawed FPS
I have been savoring this game for a few months now and feel like I can give an adequate review. It is absolutely stunning. The lighting effects are awe-inspiring and the shadows are excellent. The AI is intuitive and cunning. The game play is similar to the Fallout series, with long breaks in between exciting battles. Stealth is very important. The clothing options seem a bit ludicrous, since only a few actually help you in the game and the rest are just for style. Easily one of the best games to play with friends online. There is very little wrong with this game, except for the glitches. Stupid things like falling through a floor, floating items, and flying enemies. It can be irritating and is the only reason I am giving a 4 out of 5 rating. The most recent update was unneeded and made the game less challenging. They provided more heath packs, and for some reason boomboxes, than a player could ever need. I still would recommend buying it for only $20. Worth it.

Meh
The game hasn't grabbed my attention. The missions are dull, the locations are filled with the same furniture and miscellaneous objects. I might give it another try at some point, maybe it gets better later on, but the first four hours haven't made me want to continue anytime soon.

Sleeper hit!
The cover art may make you say no, but the gameplay, amazing AI and graphics will make you come back for more. Love love love this game. They need to make more like it! I also enjoy the multiplayer, we need more games with story driven coop.

30 minutes of gameplay. 20-30 hours of redundancy
Generation Zero is one of those games that tries to take 30 minutes of content, then stretch it out to a full 20-30 hour long experience. I use the word 'experience' lightly here, as most of the game involves players running from copy\pasted location to copy\pasted location with little to nothing in between in order to discover more information on missing people. The point of the game is to locate where the civilians ran off to. Where are they hiding? Are they alive? Did the robotic devastation destroy everyone? These questions are interesting enough to press on for most games, but definitely not this one. Shortly after you complete your first bunker mission and investigate a 'war-board' you'll see what I mean. One of the MAIN missions of the game actually asks you to perform the same menial task like 8 times across the entire maps worth of bunkers in order to complete the main quest. Could you imagine a game like Assassins Creed asking the player to climb all bird towers before being able to see the ending? No thanks. I'm not sure what's worse though, the mission structure, or the graphics. I have read the game runs at 1440p on PS4 Pro and 1800p on the One X, but it sure doesn't look like it. The game looks incredibly dated. Here and there, it will look nice, but it looks quite bad most of the time, especially during its night cycle(in which case the game gets way too dark and you can't adjust brightness in the options menu for some reason). The gunplay is also a bit of a mess. Aiming and shooting just feels slow and clunky(although you CAN apply upgrades to improve on some of these things) and the movement seems like it was made just to allow the idiotic robots to kill you since they are so much faster and can charge you at any time. Shooting at these robots, speaking of which, is honestly not too satisfying either. Ammo isn't hard to find so at least you will always have a means to defend yourself, but that leads me to another issue: the menus. The menus are definitely pretty tricky to navigate. You might wonder why you have been picking up hundreds of hollow point rounds for your secondary weapon even though your ammo counter says '0'. Well, one fun little tidbit of information is that you have to EQUIP different ammo types(that take up inventory slots) from WITHIN THE MENU and add them as an attachment. Fun fun, right? This game is similar to something like State of Decay, where you really only have around 30 minutes worth of gameplay there, but at least in SOD, I felt like its gameplay and 'hook' with the loot runs and combat was fun, for at least a little while. In Generation Zero, it just feels like it was created to bore you to death. Once you discover the main gameplay loop, you might want to stop without wasting any more time. The game can be played online which might ease the boredom to some degree, but not all that much I imagine. I wouldn't recommend playing this, even if it was discounted to 20 bucks or less. Even as a time-waster, this game often comes off as drab and uninteresting.
