A basic typing handbook using the self-teaching, learn-at-your-own-speed methods of one of New Yorkโs most successful business schools. This practical guide offers specialized drills, speed and accuracy timings, centering and tabulating, finished business letters, how to make corrections and copies, proofreadersโ symbols, as well as trouble-saving tips. Review: Great book on typing! - I thought the book was great. I had forgotten how to use a typewriter, and since I recently bought one I needed a little help. I ordered this booklet and it was crisp and clean and the writing and photos were large, easy to read, and easy to understand. I would recommend it to anyone that is a basic bigginer on typing with a keyboard of any kind! Review: A great resource and typing practice. - The book arrived on time and in great conduction.

old school but it works
I had a medical emergency in early December and I am having to relearn skills like typing so I ordered this book. It is old school and honestly, it had exposed some bad habit I have acquired over the years so I am unlearning bad habits as I learn new ones and get the typing drills for practice so it is doing what I wanted and it was a reasonable price.

I used this book over 25 years ago when I was in high school and it's still around that should say how helpful it is! I bought it for my grandson who is using a manual typewriter and it helped describe and tell him where the various keys and levers were located and what they were used for. It also told him how to place his fingers so he no longer used the hunt and peck method. I would buy it again.

Not for kids
My 9 year old G Granddaughter was not very impressed with this. Apparently she is being taught typing as part of a computer use program.

Good if you are using a typewriter from the 1960's or 1970's.
Don't recommend. Try a free online typing tutor instead. You will get more out of it. This book is from 1976 when we were still using typewriters and no-one had a computer. It spends time describing the components of the typewriters of the day (electronic & manual). I just tossed the book into the paper recycles just today.
