Presto 07047 Cool Touch Electric Griddle

I purchased this Griddle to avoid having eggs or pancakes running into each other in a frying pan due to lack of space. I am very happy with my purchase. This griddle is big enough to cook probably 3 or 4 pancakes or 2 or 4 eggs at a time, with bacon on the side and everything spaced out well. The griddle is fairly flat, I keep it in a drawer with other frying pans stacked on top of it. The power cord/temperature controller actually gets inserted into one side so I remove it to make storage easier and just insert it and plug it in for use and it sits right on my counter top as I cook. It heats up very quickly, it has with a temperature knob that you set the actual degree's instead of a high/medium/low setting like a stove but it comes with a little chart that tells you what temperature to used based on different types of food. It provides even and consistent heat and cooks eggs, pancakes, and bacon very well. There is a grease trap for any bacon grease ect. and it is very easy to clean. I just lean it in the sink and wash it with dish soap and soft sponge and it cleans up very easily and quickly. All in all this is a great product. It is reliable, performs well, and is fairly convenient. The only thing I would bring to reviewers attention was I had to buy this for about $36 from a 3rd party seller as it was not available for sale by Amazon or prime and 2 days after I received it I saw it on sale at Macy's for $19.99. Just a memo in case it helps anyone save a few dollars.

I'm new to making the Japanese okonomiyaki. This griddle makes things so much easier, after working with the smallish griddle that came with our stove. I LOVE it! Clean up is a snap... for what little there is to clean up. I've only used it once for the batch of okonomiyakis shown it the photo, but I can see it will be my preferred method of cooking them! I can even become a travelling okonomiyaki specialist now! The only thing that I had to remedy before first use is putting some no-slip pads on each of the four feet. This eliminated a very slight rocking I had noticed, and it now has a very stable grip on the countertop. (I used small squares of camper mounting tape stuck to the bottom of the feet) Probably any kind of foam tape that's only sticky on one side will work. This is a great value for the money!

Simple set up, easy clean up, consistent temperature

works well for pancakes and sausage and bacon. I just wish it had a lid!! Cleans easily. The drip tray isn't ideal, but I can deal with it.

I love this griddle! I just used it for the first time and it works and cooks like a charm! Even cooking surface and precise temperature control. I made bacon and then a grilled cheese and both came out perfectly thanks to the included guide that shows you what temperature to use for different types of foods. Great size and doesn't take up much room at all. I'm very happy with my purchase and can't wait to use it again!

Love mym electric griddle! A must to make perfect pancakes! I can control a steady 350, allowing for a slow and steady cooking temperature. Some sections cook slower than others because of the coil distribution but it's not a problem. It's just right in size.

This grill will simplify your life. Make bacon and eggs in the same appliance at the same time. The simple dial controller performs as claimed. Set the temperature; wait five or ten minutes, and put in the bacon, put in your eggs, and monitor so the food comes out to your taste. Bacon crispy or not. Eggs up or over easy. Or maybe you want an omelette. You will get it the way you want. Oh, and it is, as claimed, non-stick. It also will grill steak, hotdogs, and hamburgers. Why would it not? And cleaning is easy. A standard-issue kitchen sponge and a little dishwashing liquid does the job. I've used the grill for several weeks now, have grilled all of the above on it, and find no major problems, but two minor annoyances not worth deducting a star for: 1. The socket in which you insert the controller in the appliance is hard to see. You may have to pick up the grill and pivot it around to do that. 2. The grease "tray," as it's billed in the simple instructions, is really more of a "trap" than a tray. In fact I thought the tray might have been left out of the package. But I quickly realized my mistake. And the thing slides out too easily.

Does not seem to heat completley equally over the entire surface, perhaps because it's so thin - My real complaint, which is it's far too lite, needs a bit of weight to the cook top, don't want to have to hold the unit & cook, as it skips / moves on a smooth surface. However, it works for the intended use, cooks a good steak, picklets et al. 1 ½ cup flour 3/4 cup milk (whole) 185 mls (personally one cup) 1 tsp baking powder (slightly heavy handed). 1 pinch salt (Go light, I tend to typically go normal to moderate with cooking). Needs a little salt, but barely. 2 Tbsp sugar (Not nessarary, but finebakers sugar - more consistent). 1 large egg (I like two medium eggs) 1 Tbsp butter, melted Sift the flour, baking powder and salt together into a bowl. Stir in the sugar. In another bowl or a jug, beat the egg with 1 cup of the milk and the melted butter. Slight covering of the Presto surface with butter. The heat for the Presto should be 375F. Make a well in the dry ingredients and add the liquid mixture. Without over-mixing, stir until combined, adding MORE milk if the mixture is too stiff, the mixture does not work if too sloopy/loose. *The mixture should be able to drop off the end of a spoon. Heat a lightly buttered non-stick pan on a medium heat. Drop dessert spoonfuls of the mixture into the pan, allowing room to turn the pikelets. When the pikelets bubble, turn and cook the other side. Remove from pan and keep warm in a clean tea towel. Finish with a very thick whipping cream [ Or, cream cheeze] & Strawberry jam, jelly or honey (Manuka honey for a spoiled desert), old school for over 200 years for pilgrim's.

Love this. Great size for three of us. Heat is distributed well, cooks evenly. Could tilt a bit more to keep fat from building up, but overall a great purchase. Cleans easily and easy to store.

I was shopping for a fairly specifically-sized griddle, as I wanted it to fit in the same footprint as my previous griddle. This one offered me more heated space (ie: less frame) than my old unit, and seems to be of a decent quality. The heat distribution on mine seems very good (judged by a fairly even colouration on pancakes; I'm pretty sure that's an industry-standard test......) The overall construction feels a bit low budget, but I can't see an obvious failure mode waiting to happen, and expect that I'll get as much life-per-dollar out of this as I would its more expensive cousins. So far, so good. 9/10 would buy again.

Tengo más de 2 años con el y sigue funcionando. Calienta parejo y no se pegaban las cosas por muy buen tiempo. Lo uso del diario para cocinar diferentes platillos a la plancha o asados y para calentar tortillas. Volveré a comprar otro igual más adelante. Fue una excelente compra. Recomendado!!
