Krzysztof Kieslowski's Dekalog is one of the greatest achievements of the late 20th century - as much an intricate work of moral philosophy as it is a collection of psychologically riveting narratives. I have never forgotten the first time I saw these back in the early 90's when they were first shown on Channel 4. I later bought them on video, for a tidy sum of £39.99 on Atrificial Eye. I lost track of these over the years after VHS went west. I thought I'd treat myself to them on Blu Ray, (which I think is the perfect format for film) and being released by Arrow I knew they're be transferred well. I wasn't disappointed the transfer is superb, you have to remmeber these were made for Polish TV in the late 80's and they'll never look any better than this. They're presented over three discs in simple camshell cover with no booklet. Anyone who has seen these films will know how good they are. Never has the gamut of human emotions been depicted with such sensitivity and honesty. The cinematography and acting is unequalled and after watching them you'll be dreaming about them for months after. A masterpiece!!
