Replacement as Laptop WiFi stopped working

Very small adapter, comes with install details on small CD-ROM so you'll either need a CD drive or an existing internet connection to get the setup files onto the machine in question. Straightforward to set up, has worked well with no interruptions. Would recommend.

Tiny and great signal. But even using the most up to date win10 enterprise install with all updates slipstreamed in it didn't have a driver it could use so I had to go and get the driver on my mobile then add that to the pc Then it installed. Hardly good for non tech people.

No software is included with this device. The driver must be downloaded from the manufacturer’s website - which (since this device is used to connect to the internet) is not possible unless you have another computer at your disposal. It really wouldn’t break the bank to include a minidisc in the box, or an auto-install file in the device itself. Short-sighted corporate stupidity.

Quick and easy to install, my WiFi card wasn’t working anymore so I switched to this, occupying minimum space on the USB of my laptop works perfectly! So glad instead of changing laptop or WiFi card I bought this!

I wasn't sure about this, having read the other reviews, but it's NETGEAR... Following the recommendations, I installed the Standalone Driver from the Netgear web site first, using a different WiFi dongle, disconnected that and plugged the new one into a front USB 2 socket. Windows saw it and prompted me to connect. I have an ASUS PL-AC56 1200 powerline adapter in range and that connected first time. The PC has been on continuously since then, with some drop-outs lasting a few hours but it is up most of the time with a speed barely different to a hardwired connection. We're on BT FTC broadband and get 70Mbps down, 18Mbps up.

I bought this knowing that it's not marketed as working on Linux, but the chipset is supposed to be supported by Linux since kernel 6.2 It worked on Fedora ... until it didn't. The network connection kept completely disappearing while in use, and the usb dongle would have to be pulled out and reinserted for it to reappear and reconnect to the router. 3 stars, because it worked some of the time (albeit not very fast) and because the manufacturer never claimed it works with Linux so it's partly my own fault. Replaced with a PCIe card using an intel chipset which is a much faster network connection and hasn't disconnected at all so far.

I had terrible internet as my router was one side of the house and my home office was on the other side, wifi was a joke until i purchased the Netgear 1200 usb adapter and now i have brilliant wifi signal and can work anytime.

Small in size. Easy to install. But the range and “effect” falls way short unfortunately. I could only reach about 27mbit where I have WiFi of 250mbit on my phone. I would not recommend it.

Llevo 2 años usándolo, y hasta ahora no había escrito nada porque no me gusta escribir comentarios sin haberlo usado bastante antes, para dar un ejemplo de uso a los demás. Hasta ahora sin problema alguno. La verdad es que una vez insertado en su USB te olvidas que lo tienes y ningún problema en el flujo de datos o en la conexión. Una maravilla de adaptador.
