Great Purchase- Great price!
As a newcomer to long exposure photography, I recently purchased the JJC Intervalometer Timer Remote Shutter Release Time Lapse for Nikon, and I have to say, it's been a game-changer for me. This handy device has quickly become an essential tool in my photography kit, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. First and foremost, let's talk about ease of use. As a beginner, I was a bit intimidated by the idea of using an intervalometer, but the JJC Timer Remote Shutter Release made the process incredibly simple. The user-friendly interface and intuitive controls allowed me to set up my shots with ease, even without prior experience. The functionality of this device is truly impressive. Whether I'm capturing star trails, light trails, or stunning landscapes, the intervalometer allows me to achieve the perfect exposure every time. The ability to set custom intervals, exposure times, and shutter counts gives me complete control over my shots, allowing me to unleash my creativity and experiment with different techniques. In terms of build quality, the JJC Intervalometer Timer Remote Shutter Release feels sturdy and well-made. It's lightweight and compact, making it easy to carry around in my camera bag without adding unnecessary bulk. Plus, it's compatible with a wide range of Nikon cameras, so I didn't have to worry about compatibility issues. Overall, I can't recommend the JJC Intervalometer Timer Remote Shutter Release highly enough. It's the perfect tool for beginners looking to explore the world of long exposure photography, offering simplicity, functionality, and reliability at an affordable price. If you're looking to take your photography to the next level, this device is a must-have addition to your kit. Five out of five stars from me!

Met my needs, fairly easy to use
I agree with most reviewers that this intervalometer is easy to use and works well, and that the instructions could be better. It does work well and is easy to use. I suspect many negative reviews are by people that don't bother to learn how intervalometers work. If you want to make a 4-second shot every 15 seconds (4 shots per minute), then the exposure (B) is set to 4 and the interval (I) is 11 seconds, and 4+11=15. Nowhere do you enter 15 to accomplish this interval. Also, the delay or timer is just how long until the first shot. I guess it's obviywhat the number of shots does. One thing that would be nice is for the device to retain your settings between sessions. I'd like to be able to program it indoors, turn it off, and then be able to turn it on with the saved settings. Well.... It don't. You have to enter the settings every time you turn it on. I use this device more as a remote shutter release than as an intervalometer whenever the trusty old Nikon D3200 is on the tripod. For star trails, I set the camera to M, ISO 400, 30 second exposure, shutter set to shoot continuously, 8mm lens focus locked at infinity, aperture f5.6, and then I lock down the shutter button of this intervalometer (I could program the intervalometer to do this with the camera exposure set to B, but remember what I said about having to program it every time it's turned on?). I also have a 120volt power adapter that plugs into the camera battery slot, allowing the camera to operate continuously rather than perhaps an hour with a battery. It then takes a minute or two for the free StarStax software to compile a few hundred images into a nice star trails image. Admittedly, my settings are not the same as most found in astrophotography blogs, but I like the results I'm getting so far with my equipment. I could use higher ISO if we didn't have as much light pollution. Your experiences will be different, so just go out in a dark place and try a bunch of settings to find what works best for you. All things considered, I would buy this device again if needed because it does what I want at a very affordable price.

Great Intervalometer, wish I bought it earlier. Excellent for the price.
Iโm extremely pleased with this Intervalometer. I purchased it to use with my Nikon D7000 for Astrophotography. Before that I was trying to use the built in Intervalometer function on the camera. I found that very frustrating. The first time out with this unit I successfully programmed and used it to photograph the Orion Nebula. Once you figure it out the programming is quite easy. There is a light option. Unlike some other units there is a power switch. So far Iโve used it for 3-4 outings and about 2-3 hours of timing. Even without turning it on you can use it as a remote release on Nikon cameras. I followed the suggestion of another buyer and only used the supplied Chinese batteries to test the unit. Then I threw them out and put some quality Alkaline cells into it. When using it for longer exposures than 30 seconds remember to set your camera to Bulb. I made the mistake of programming for 1 minute exposures and forgetting to set my camera to bulb. So I had a long session with only 30 second subs. I highly recommend this unit, kind of reluctantly. In Americaโs current situation we produce very little electronics and rely on China for inexpensive products. This is one of those. It does the job of the Nikon unit for about 1/6 or less the cost. I canโt tell how long it will last, but so far it seems pretty well built. Thatโs why I gave it 5 stars.

Great for Night Skies
Photos are at Goblin Valley State Park, Utah Winds were 17mph. Exposure time :20-:30. Used for time lapse and reducing shaking. Was delivered quickly to hotel away from home. Battery life is exceptional. Good value. Would recommend quality.

Connection point to camera isnโt very durable
Iโve owned two of these in the past 6 months and they seem to break in the exact same place. Disconnecting from camera you MUST pull gently and do not pull from cord or this point will fail. Expected when buying something inexpensive but two in 6 months isnโt good at all. Iโve contacted customer support from manufacturer and still no reply. You get what you pay for!

Works well
I got this for astrophotography with my Nikon D3300 DSLR. It's a bit annoying to program (watching the numbers climb slowly as you hold the up button), but it works fine once it's programmed. I typically use this to capture ~100 20-second shots at a time as I'm using an Alt/Az mount (Celestron CPC 800) and need to reframe/rotate the field of view every 30 minutes or so. It works great for this purpose. For taking calibration frames, you can either program it (e.g., darks) or just hold the middle button to take quick captures in sequence (e.g., bias frames). Notably, I was taking pictures at ~13F temperatures and it worked just fine.

Amazing product that is about as strong as wet paper
So first off this is an amazing and simple product to use. It works exactly as described and is extremely intuitive to use. Unfortunately it is also one of the most brittle products I've ever purchased. I have now had two break on me with a total usage between them of probably less than a month. When the first one suddenly started malfunctioning and then quit working completely I tried to contact customer service. The site is entirely in Chinese and it isn't clear what you it is even asking for when making a warranty claim. But it doesn't matter because they just won't get back to you anyway. So assume you have no warranty even though it is advertised as 1 year. Unless it breaks on you within the return period you aren't getting a replacement. With the second one the entire connector just crumbled in my hand when I removed it from the camera. Sharp wires everywhere and one just fell off making it completely unrepairable. All that had happened was the device had fallen off its perch on my tripod and hung from the camera. It never hit anything but I guess this hanging by its own weight (which is almost nothing) was enough to rip apart the metal connector and destroy another $20+ device. I'd buy it again but I think I've learned my lesson. I'll go with something wireless for 3x the price instead.

Metal pin to connect stays in camera
What else to say, working as it should like others. Expecting it will last a long time. Bought a second time since plug is very fragile and broke easily. Beep in not the same as before. Feels more cheap than first one: downgrading to 4 stars. Updated review: metal pin connecting to camera barely hold to the wire plastic cover. On third use, metal pin stayed in camera. As said before, it's my second purchase and I will not buy again. Too cheap. Downgrading to 1 star.

Nice unit
Have only just received & tested the unit. Came with required batteries and easy to follow instructions. Buttons to operate do not have a solid feel. ex: the light and start/stop buttons can be depressed below the level of the top surface and get stuck under the housing shell. This timer includes the shooting duration as part of the interval time. (as opposed to others which specify interval time as that between shots). The light switch is both an on & off button. Push once to turn light on, it stays on until you push again to turn light off. Prefer this to some timers which only have the light stay on for a few seconds and then auto shut off.

Cheep but it works
It works just fine for the price. The only bad thing is the intervals in-between photos only able to be set to 1 second or higher

Inexpensive and Well Made
I like the on/off switch but find the instructions almost incomprehensible. Surely, the Chinese manufacturer could have found a more skilled translator. Use Youtube to find a tutorial

Shutter release without batteries will not work on Nikon D-7500
Item was supposed to trigger the shutter on camera even without batteries, not the case with Nikon D7500, unless the intervalometer was defective also timing between modes didn't actually performed that good. If I needed an interval of 5sec. I had to change to 12sec. to work properly with the other settings. Especially in astrophotography timing is everything. Had to return it.
