D'CENT Hardware Wallet | Biometric Cold Storage, Bluetooth, Multi-Crypto

I’ve used a few hardware wallets before, and the D’CENT biometric wallet easily stands out. The fingerprint authentication adds a level of convenience and security that just makes sense, no more fumbling with buttons or worrying about someone accessing your device. Setup was straightforward, and the mobile app pairs seamlessly. The UI is clean, responsive, and beginner friendly, but still powerful enough for more experienced crypto users. I also like the wide asset support and how smooth transactions are. Build quality feels solid, and it’s compact enough to carry without feeling fragile. Most importantly, it gives me full confidence knowing my assets are truly in my control with self custody. If you’re serious about crypto security, this is 100% worth it. Highly recommend.

Despite what many will tell you, this is in fact the most secure wallet for regular, real world use. Why? Many don’t understand that real world security matters above all else. Example: your company decides to require everyone to have 24 character passwords with letters, numbers, characters, etc. In theory this is a stronger password, because it’s harder to guess but in practice people will forget it, be inconvenienced, etc. and therefore write it on a post-it or word doc. People might recycle passwords or be willing to share them. They may get locked out of their devices, waste valuable time dealing with password recovery, and all kinds of other issues. End result is actually less secure and a net negative. In this example, compare to a password manager that stores “strong” passwords and only requires a simple(r) password/pin and 2FA from a mobile app. End password is more difficult to obtain or brute force because it can be even longer and more complicated. Compliance is higher because it actually improves convenience. Overriding the 2FA aspect entails breaking past Face ID/fingerprint or otherwise exploiting access to the smartphone, cracking 2FA, etc. Still more layers of what is still fairly strong security to overcome. “But it has a fingerprint reader. Biometrics = bad”. Fingerprint reader is a massive plus. Pins can be guessed or a nefarious actor can just shoulder surf or record you entering the pin. Pins can be forgotten, and entering one on a small device is slow and cumbersome. May lead to setting an insecure pin, not bothering to transact with cold wallet for regular use, etc. Besides, you don’t have to use one if you don’t want to. Although all biometric data is stored in the wallet, never transmitted. Can still use pin in lieu or as a backup. “Bluetooth bad”. Unless you’re being targeted by someone who can break high encryption Bluetooth in the intermittent periods where your wallet is on, probably not a worry. In which case you’re being targeted; someone that determined to get into your wallet would resort to violence or coercion regardless of security measures…in which case you’d have far bigger problems. Beyond convenience, high encryption Bluetooth to iOS over a cellular connection has fewer weak points than a USB connection (in theory every piece of hardware in the computer can be exploited by someone determined enough). iOS is more secure than windows or MacOS, and browsers/browser extensions have their own vulnerabilities. Plus you’re likely using WiFi, which is ironically way less secure than high security Bluetooth. Or you’re having to boot into tails from a flash drive, which still doesn’t address the browser/WiFi issues. Small, easy to use, gorgeous screen (compared to competition).Also don’t need to wipe the device for software updates. That’s huge. Support for multiple wallets on multiple networks with the ability to add custom tokens makes it perfect for DeFi. You should be using a cold wallet, and the D’CENT makes that easy and convenient. Highly recommend.

This is a fantastic little gizmo with all the bells and whistles to keep your coin safe. It has a wide variety of different coins that can be safe guarded and I like that it is not permanently online or a software based only stronghold for assets. Biometrics work really well, it is easily connected to d'cent (the software counterpart) and both security features are outstanding. This is the first bitcoin wallet I have had so don't really have a reference to compare it to but I'm very happy with my purchase. I do however find the security measures in other bitcoin investing platforms to be strong and sufficient with some being more secure and thorough in access and transactions but it's a always nice to have assets under one's own control.. so to speak. I'm sure hackers and theives are on the March trying to pin down weak spots on those platforms which the companies are working very hard to mitigate... at least i hope. The transfer into the wallet is nerve-racking as it seems one wrong move and your coins are lost to the cyber realm with no recovery available. Caution, I am finding out, with any and all transactions must be fully realized with inerrant risks aplenty. This adventure of investing bitcoin is NOT for the faint at heart but with this wallet it does surmount most of those fears. I reviewed many other wallets online, this being at the higher price point but well worth my purchase. A more advanced wallet in my assessment, still perfectly serviceable but definitely not a point and click, done in two.

Excellent app and protection for my coins. Best value for the money I could find with the protection level. Only issue I have is the fingerprint reader is very small and I have to enter the PIN most times. Unit overall is very small.

Not Your Keys, Not Your Crypto! This is the 2nd wallet so I don’t have all my eggs in one basket! If you see me with a finger missing, they stole my wallet. Biometrics and an extra word in your seed phrase makes it a perfect choice! The only thing I don’t like is having to connect to my laptop the first time for the Update!

Extremely Disappointed — My Crypto Was Drained Even Though the Wallet Was Offline I bought this cold wallet because I thought it would finally give me real security. I moved all my crypto onto it and kept the device locked in a safe at home. I didn’t even connect it for a long time. Still, when I opened the companion app, I discovered that every bit of my crypto had been stolen. I genuinely do not understand how this can happen with a device that is supposed to be “offline” and “protected.” If someone can drain your wallet even when the cold device is untouched and disconnected, then what exactly is this product securing? To make things worse, the support is basically nonexistent. There is no real help on their website, no useful guidance, and no one to explain what went wrong or how this is even possible. For a product that markets itself as a security solution, not having proper support is extremely concerning. At this point, I’m honestly not sure what this device is supposed to do. I trusted it with everything, but everything disappeared — and there’s no support to turn to.

Love their biometric cold wallet but returned. Only buy direct from the manufacturer.
