30" Over-the-Range Shelf/Display/Ledge/Rack, 3.5" deep (Black)

For what it is, this shelf did strike me as slightly over priced before purchase, but having received it, it exceeds my expectations. It’s good steel, not easy to bend. Powder coat paint seems very durable. Seems intentionally bent just a bit up so when you install it, any heavier items on it will make it level. Otherwise you can put downward pressure on it a bit to level it if desired once mounted. However! Strongly recommend using toggle bolts if you do not hit studs in the wall. The mounting holes are about 16” apart, so they should align with studs, but this is sometimes not the optimal placement on a wall, so I’d expect to use toggle bolts. I bought a black one for over the black range (fits perfectly over most openings in this spot, goes nicely under an over range microwave oven too). Will very likely pick up two more white finish for another area in kitchen, black, white, gray kitchen aesthetic maintained and enhanced. Functional, modern, low profile, strong and simple. For hot sauce, spices, olive oil, random other items, even supports my old Braun coffee grinder, perfect depth. Worth it.

I was tired of digging through cabinet for spices and didn't want to take up more counter space. Saw this and really liked the idea of having my spices so convenient. I was concerned as to whether the shelf would hold up since I was going to drill holes into my backsplash which is why I waited 6 months to write a review. The shelf has held up well is very secure. Has handled the weight of spices in the glass jars as well as cooking oil. I like the minimal look as it allowed plenty of room to hand utensils underneath.

I really love this over the range shelf! It's very sturdy, and simple looking. I was able to take all of my spices in glass jars (which is a lot!) out of the cupboards and stack them on the shelf in two's for each spot. Mine is packed full and it's really sturdy. So the people that say it's not sturdy, it makes me wonder what they used to fasten the shelf to the wall! The shelf didn't come with any hardware to install it. I used wall anchors I had handy on mine and that worked great. I couldn't pull it off the wall. Studs or wall anchors are the way to go. If you just use screws it's not going to be sturdy. All in all, the shelf is sleek, sturdy, and looks great. It should come with different options, screws, wall anchors, ect. $40 for a metal shelf and you should get the fixings too. I think mine was a mistake though because the store page says it does!

I looked a long time before finding this 30-inch steel shelf just right for over the stove. We first put up a 30-inch stainless steel backsplash above the stove, and then attached the shelf on top of the backsplash with screws. So nice having my frequently used spices right at hand when cooking. The shelf does have fairly sharp edges on the ends. However, we installed the shelf between two cabinets, so this is not a problem. Very sturdy shelf. We are quite happy with this purchase.

Works well! I needed something for over my new stove. My most used spices kept sliding off the top... It's not flimsy as others have mentioned at all. My husband used his own wall anchors and it's totally secure with no wobbling or drooping, maybe that's the difference? I have several decorative glass bottles with speed pourers for oils, as well as glass spice jars and there is no issues. My only gripe is that the side edges are sharp. I have an electrical outlet right next to the left edge and I always seem to lightly scratch my hand when plugging/unplugging things. Luckily I don't use that outlet too often, if I did... I'd have to take it down and smooth out the sides with a Dremel. We have it hung about an inch above the top of the stove, instead of aligned with the cabinetry as the seller has pictured. If you hang it as pictured or don't have an outlet right next to the side of the shelf then it is perfect as-is.

The shelf is EXACTLY what I have been looking for to install above our stove. When we replaced our old range with a newer model a few years ago, we lost the storage space above the console of the stove, since the new one is curved, and nothing will stay put. I've looked at various spice racks, but I wanted something really simple and utilitarian. I have it mounted just about an inch and a half above the range, and all of our common seasonings fit easily. The stainless matches our stove nicely. Now I just need to replace the fan/hood to match as well. The depths of the shelf is enough for even some larger spice jars, or bottles. The shelf is 18 gauge steel, and there is no way that it is going to bend under the weight of a few spice jars. The reviews that indicate that the shelf sags are almost certainly from people who mounted it to the wall with just the two screws that come in the package, and without wall anchors. Unless you are lucky enough to have wood joists in the perfect spot, you will definitely need to use wall anchors to keep the screws from sagging. When mounted properly, the shelf if very sturdy. I would have dinged it one star for not including the wall anchors, but they are such a cheap fix (pennies), that I didn't think it was worth it. But the manufacturer should really include these.

Wanted to add a stainless shelf on new tile over stove but they were all outrageously expensive and too deep. This works well. It is deep enough to hold a heavy bottle of wine, does not interfere with my fan function and looks great.

The stainless is nice, great even. The edges are cut on a 45° and ok. No mounting hardware was included. Thankfully had some drywall anchors and screws on hand. But now I have exposed fasteners so much less of a clean install - guess I'll hide them behind some spices. Also this definitely should have came with a protective film for removal after installation to prevent scratches.

It looks nice and ties in well with the stainless steel appliances. But everything gets hot on the shelf when you use the back burners.

We removed a microwave, installed the hood and there was an empty spot with no backsplash behind it. The shelf was a nice idea for this spot, it fits perfectly under 30" hood. But the price is a total ripoff, especially in Canada. They really take advantage of the lack of other options. Really, Amazon?

Keeps spices handy over the stove and easy to clean. Sturdy and strong. Looks great.
