utter rubbish & possibly dangerous
First time used was outside return window due to ski trip. Utter rubbish. Only fitted with USA plug, smelt badly of burning plastic while in use, then stopped working and died. Dangerous probably.

Doesn't work
I bought a US to UK adaptor plug for this product and after a few seconds it just stopped working. I looked up the Dry Guy company's website and they say that it is not suitable to use outside of the USA, wven with an adapter plug - so why did amazon.co.uk allow this to be sold???

WOW! Worked so much better than expected!
I'm naturally skeptical when it comes to almost anything these days. It seems that almost nothing lives up to the claims made by manufactures that can be purchased for what almost always turns out to be more money than something is worth. We purchased this with the slim hopes that it would be able to at least reduce the amount of water/moisture in our teenage children's soccer cleats after weekend long tournaments in weather that should have caused the tournaments cancellation. Their cleats are sometimes so waterlogged that hours and sometimes days later were still dripping wet, even after filling them with newspaper, paper towels, other internet baseless-claims of what to fill the cleats with and leaving them outside in the sun in order to dry them out. Upon ordering this dryer, I weighted and placed a pair of older cleats and a pair of regular running shoes in buckets of water and let them soak for the two days until the dryer arrived. When the dryer did arrive, I set it up, plugged it in and took the pair of cleats out of the bucket and placed them on the dryer, then turned the dryer on setting the timer to the full three hour limit. After one hour, I wasn't surprised to find the cleats still very wet, but after two I was pleasantly surprised to find that the cleats had been significantly dried but were still damp. And after the full three hours, I was blown away by the fact that the cleats were 100% dry, free of any moisture and free of the normal old cleat smell. I then took the running shoes out of the bucket and immediately placed them on the dryer and repeated the three hour test. And to my astonishment, I had the same result. Absolutely dry and free of any nauseating smell shoes. This dryer goes with us every time we have to travel for our soccer tournaments. I even took it with me on a weekend ATV/UTV trip. And I was glad that I did. It rained all weekend long and my friends and I used it to dry our soaking boots out every night after riding all day in non-stop rain and lots of water fording. It easily handled drying out four pairs of motorcycle and hiking boots and pretty much ran all night long doing so. I have since purchased this dryer again in order to have two on hand in times of need and have had the exact same results. Very rarely am I this happy with any purchase I've made for anything. Especially something of this nature.

Does the job on work boots - Not disappointed enough to return, but definitely disappointed.
Way too expensive, maybe for runners or light shoes it would be OK, but for work boots, especially when wet, it is not good. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't deserve 1 star because it DOES dry my boots (I'm yet to test on soaking wet/muddy boots and I get the feeling that it doesn't provide enough heat or air). It is also not "whisper quiet". Definitely not loud by any means, but think "neighbour hairdrying their hair on the next-door-apartment-balcony" quiet. For heavier boots, such as wet-work boots, the legs rotate 180 degrees, and it's no longer a convenient gadget you can leave at your door every day to dry your boots; it's just an annoying appliance you have to pull out or leave sitting there, looking weird as hell. To be clear, it does not do it in the nice "stood up" fashion that it is designed. The "legs" rotate 180 degrees, so they require 5 minutes to get the balance "just right" so that the telescopic ends can reach the inside of the boot. Even following the instruction manual, the full 240-minute timer doesn't dry the toe area of the boot, so they need to be "shoved in" for lack of a better term, leading to my next point: The telescopic ends are HOPELESSLY weak and required me to tape them up at the highest position, as applying any sort of pressure just makes them go straight back down (literally, the weight of my boots pushes them back down). This needs a lockout system or something. I know it is designed to be portable for hikers, etc., but it makes its function far, far worse and could be so easily solved. Luckily for me, I have boots that have a zip down the side, and it would still NEVER reach far enough into the boot to dry the worst part of the boot, the toe area, so if you don't have this on your boots, I wouldn't recommend it. This is a review for WORKBOOTS. AND IT DOES THE JOB, just not as conveniently as it states, and not with the convenience I would expect from spending the extra $$$ for what I thought would be a great product. Not disappointed enough to return, but definitely disappointed.

Works incredibly well with ski boots
Bought for drying mine and my partner's ski boots after a full day's of skiing. Have been using it for the past two months, almost every weekend. Works really well, we can have our boots dry and ready for the next day. Usually dries each pair within 1.5hours. Not fully silent, there is a fan-like noise as expected of something outputting air, but it's not enough to be disturbing. It's small enough to be tucked away when not being used. Overall very satisfied

** Update** 5 Star Customer Service JUNE 2019
I used this to dry my ski boots and it worked as expected. I had read the reviews of other users saying that the unit will not hold up ski boots and this is true. Anything heavier than tennis shoes is probably too heavy for the articulating arms. I found that laying winter boots, ski boots, etc flat worked ok.. I have probably used it 30 times or less in the past few months of ownership and have had good results. That was until the unit started to melt one of the articulating arms. Starting about a month ago one of the articulating arms began to warp and over time it has gotten worse to the point it has lost all use of one arm. A better denser plastic would be better for this heated application. I feel like the plastic that is used could be upgraded with a more heat resistant plastic. Also adding some supports to the arms would give the unit more longevity. **UPDATE 15MAY2019** After months of emailing support I have given up. They were quick to respond to my support request and even shipped me a "new" unit as replacement. It took weeks for delivery. Then upon opening and trying to operate the new device it was audibly broken. Parts were moving loosely around inside.... I plugged it in and all that happened was a low hum and a smell of melting plastic. I unplugged it and emailed support. I offered to ship back the replacement unit if they would send me a new working unit with a shipping label. Support confirmed they would send a new unit. Again weeks went by and nothing. I contacted support and was informed it was an issue with the shipping between UPS/USPS and a new unit would be sent. Its now been weeks and still nothing. Terrible QA, Terrible Service. Terrible Product. ***Update JUNE2019 *** DryGuy reached out to me directly and explained what happened and made things right. I spoke with a very nice representative and she issued me a replacement and another product to try out because of my overall bad experience. I have tried the products and they work very well. I look forward to another ski season using the boot dryer. Now I use the boot dryer for my hiking shoes and it works exactly as expected. After all the interactions with the representative from DryGuy I feel much better about not only my product experience but also my customer support experience. She really made things right and was very professional. Changing my rating to 5/5 stars because of the extremely positive interactions I had with DryGuy support and the new replacement product.
