is the outlet the middle or the bottom?

The drain outlet is at the bottom of the vac between the wheels, you need the vac higher than the outlet for it to work at its best.

Relaxed head of machine without quibble very helpful

My pond is only 500 litres. Will this be effective in cleaning algae etc?

As yet I have only used the pondmaster on a quick test to check the operation, so that went to plan! Now I have to use on my pond.

Need to ship oversees. Any idea how much is the shipping weight of the box?

I had to return mine and my local post office weighed it at 9.988Kg
