Fantastic product, until it breaks. And it will break.
**Update** This would be hands down one of the best baby products out there if it wasn't so poorly made. I have unfortunately gone from 5 stars to 1 since my original review. We have gone through 3 of these. They all slowly fell apart. Customer service was great within the first year. They will not replace a replacement no matter when it breaks though. First the projector would stop turning (on ALL of them)- not a huge deal. But then on the first two we had, the sound stopped working completely. Sometimes it would go in and out, Them eventually it stopped working completely. The only one that we still have (it's about 1 year old and a replacement to an original) has working sound, but nothing else works correctly. The light on top occasionally flickers- so fun when you're trying to get a two year old to sleep and it looks like a rave is going on! The other thing that was a little annoying, but definitely not a deal breaker, is that it automatically resets to a lullaby song if the power goes out. Which means, if you happen to lose power and you do not unplug it before the power comes back, it will come back on blaring an obnoxious and very startling lullaby instead of a soothing noise. Went with a Dohm for my second son's room when his broke and it seems to be taking care of business so far. ------------------------------------------------------------------ This has worked great for my 9 month old. We have had it for at least 3 months and have had no issues with it at all. I love the fact that it has voice activation and an adjustable timer. I use the voice activation and timer at night when it's quiet and leave the sound on for the duration of nap times when there could be other noises in the house. The volume can turn up really loud if you needed it to. The projector is great too. I just wish I had gotten this sooner when my son was a newborn and had no other place to look but the ceiling at night!

Doesn't function properly
This was given to me as a gift in January, but we did not start using it until we transitioned our daughter into her nursery around March of this year (about 6 months ago.) I love the concept of this machine PROS: 3 lullabies, 3 nature sounds. It has a projector with 3 different themes that rotates with high maneuverability for where it projects (ceiling, wall, etc.) It has a soft nightlight that can be on or off Volume can go very high or very low. Highest I've found so far to drown out lots of background noise Wall plug, no batteries to mess with Timer (3 settings) or constant use Auto on/off sensor: if you use the timer you can also make it so if your baby makes noise at night it senses the noise and turns back on to lull your baby to sleep. This is optional. CONS: Piece of crap. I am on my 3rd machine in 6 months, and will be returning this one as well and giving up on the machine altogether. My first machine worked great until the noises started sounding funny and crackling. They eventually faded until only certain noises would work, and not at the correct volume. The second machine worked great, nice and loud, again for a month or so until the projector completely stopped working, Sometimes I could get the projector to work in one position, but it would cut out the noise when I got that to work. Third machine worked great until the projector stopped rotating. Then one day I was standing in the nursery and starting talking and a lullaby started blasting and the projector lit up the ceiling. I figured the auto sensor was on, but it said it was off. I tried changing it into the "on" position thinking maybe the button was just labeled wrong or wired wrong, but same thing happened. Tried a variety of positions, etc., it just seems to be on with no way to turn it off. Tonight after rocking my daughter back to sleep and trying to creep out the machine sensed my presence and burst into song and lit up the ceiling ruining my otherwise perfectly sneaky departure. So, off to returns it goes! It's such a shame too, because I cannot find another machine with the same features (auto sensor, timer or continuous, as loud as a volume, multiple projector plates that rotate and has a wide range.)

Great Product!
This machine is amazing. With our first baby, we lived in a basement apartment with noisy neighbors upstairs. We bought this projector in the hopes that it would help our son sleep through the noise. He loved the projector and has slept soundly with it for nearly 4 years now. We bought a second one recently for our 20 month old daughter, who has struggled sleeping through the night since birth. She's an extremely light sleeper, yet with this projector turned on, she's able to rest more deeply. Pros: We love that the projector comes with several different sounds and images to choose from. While we never used it, it is nice that there is also an option to set a time limit on the projector. There is a switch on the back that will put the projector into "sleep mode" where it isn't running constantly, but it will come on briefly if it hears the child moving or fussing. The volume can be turned up quite loud or down to very soft, depending on the need, and there is a night light that can be used or turned off if desired. Cons: There are only two complaints we had with this projector. The first is that you can't use batteries in this item. You must have somewhere to plug it in. The second con is that after a few months of use, our first projector stopped turning the disks (though it will still project the image without spinning it around). Everything else continues to work fine on it, and our son has knocked it off the dresser more times than we can count. Overall, this is a fantastic product that we will probably continue to use with all of our kids. It's helped our current ones to sleep well, which means we get to sleep well, and then we're all happy. The price isn't bad either!

LOVE the Product HATE the issues!
OK, so my review may or may not help someone. It's really up in the air. I LOVE this product. I absolutely love that it helped my baby fall asleep, I loved that when she woke in the night and made the slightest sound it came on and soothed her back to sleep. I loved that it had 3 different discs to choose from (I wish more could be purchased separately). Put it in the room and rotate the display and it could show anywhere in the room. Sound quality is great. It's awesome that she learned to say "aahhhh" and the machine would come on for her. She loved the machine, I loved the machine, if we went away somewhere it came with us. However... With good comes bad and I'd say with this there is a lot of bad. I have been through FOUR of these machines. The motor just dies so the disc stops spinning. Yes, the picture still stays still on the ceiling (or wall if that's where you prefer) and the music plays but it just stops working and with the noise comes this awful clickety clack squealing grinding noise. And then what? You have a baby / toddler who doesn't understand and you have to run out and spend another $20 or $30 (depending where you get it) to make a quick replacement. The machine is that good that no other will do. Although I have purchased my other 4 at Babies R Us, I just purchased 2 more. Why? I purchased these last 2 for a friend that has twins. My rationale is that this machine WILL break. There is no doubt, there are going to be issues so I supplied her with backup "insurance". In addition to having twins, I felt that if by some strange luck the machine did decide to work, she would still have a secondary if she decides to put her little ones in their own rooms eventually. Her feedback to me was that so far it is certainly helping her sleep but the babies haven't caught on to it yet (just 2 months old). Believe it or not, I can not speak highly enough for this miracle of a machine. But being a realist, do yourself a favor, save the time and hassle and buy 2.

Pretty good, with a few shortcomings
We bought this for our daughter, used it every night and naptime for 14 months, and then it suddenly fried itself. But I think we got our money's worth out of it, so that's not a huge complaint. With power surges that is going to happen to small electronics from time to time. What we liked: - The projector is cute -- my daughter loves her "fishies" and they often distracted her to the point where she could fall asleep - You can change the angle of the projector, which is handy - The white noise options -- even though the repeat is ridiculously short, like 4 seconds, she never minded. I liked that it had multiple options so we could use rain for nighttime and standard white noise for naptime. - The white noise gets really loud -- we discovered that she slept great on airplanes so we cranked up the volume, and sure enough it worked well What we didn't like: - There's a timer option, but it controls both sound and projector. In a perfect world, I'd set the projector for an hour and leave the noise on all night. Couldn't do that, so I had to sneak into her room to turn the projector off before I went to bed. - The projector is really bright. Sometimes I felt like it actually kept her awake. We occasionally would tape a pair of sunglasses over the projector lens to dim the light - The projector grew louder over time and with more use. Not a bad purchase but I won't be replacing it now that it's moved on to the great electronics store in the sky. I'll be buying a projector and white noise machine separately so I can control the timing of each one independently of the other.

I loved this projector, then it broke. :(
My baby loved watching the shapes swirling on the ceiling from his first couple weeks. He would lay in his swaddle and watch it till he fell asleep. I let it run all night because it put off just enough light to nurse and change him by. After 2 months of constant use, it failed. The sound still works, but if I turn on the projector, it seems to short out and shut off completely, sound, nightlight and all. I can see by the other reviews that I am not the only one to run it into the ground. I am sure it would be fine for a person who doesn't use it heavily, but for someone who uses it constantly, it probably won't last. It is sad because I love the interchangeable discs for the projector, the timer and voice-activated functions, and the variety of sounds. It is also worth noting that the sound loops are pretty short, so if you are sensitive to subtle repetitive sounds in your white noise, this isn't going to please you. It drove my husband nuts. Update: I have bought and returned it 3 times and I am very disappointed that I cannot find one that can handle more than a couple months of use. The second one stopped working after 3 days. The sound wouldn't turn on at all. The third one almost lasted a month, but the projector stopped rotating after the motor was getting progressively louder over the last week or so. I returned the third one today and did not take another exchange. I figured I should find a different product. However, I am disappointed because I can't find another one that runs on AC power, has the music and projection independent of each other, has interchangeable projection discs, has voice activation and also has a selectable timer that includes a never-off option. I wrote to Munchkin begging them to improve the quality of this projector. Updating again: My son is now 2 years old. I tried one again a while ago, and although the sound stopped working almost immediately, I decided to keep it for the projector. We don't keep it on constantly any more. I turn on the projector as I rock my son at bed time, and then I turn it off when I put him in his crib. With an hour or less of use per day, the projector is still working, many months after I bought it.

Get it - you won't regret it.
I've had this thing for over two years now and actually got a second one when my daughter was born so each child would have one in their room. Am debating getting a third for the master bedroom. It's great. It was loud enough to muffle the city sounds and the bar downstairs from our old apartment, and now it even masks the sound of a rambunctious two year old (or my husband - not sure which is louder). In my sons room we recently started using the nightlight and projector functions along with the rain sound. I do wish there was a seperate timer for the projector, but such is life. Love that it plugs into the wall and can run all night. We had previously tried a portable homemedics one and the portable sleep sheep. Neither compare in sound quality or functionality. It has been a lifesaver to our household and sanity. ****UPDATE********* Well, after three years of using this thing every day, twice a day, the projector finally died on my son's machine. The projector wasn't used nearly as often as the sound part, but I suspect that the disc rotating function has more moving parts and probably suffered more from my son's occasional manhandling of the machine. The sound and night light function still work, and because I know it has definitely been knocked to the floor and had its buttons furiously pushed on more than a few occasions, I didn't knock off any stars. That being said, it's something to consider when putting this in a toddler's room. This is a home appliance, like anything else, and definitely NOT a toy.

Why didn't I find this sooner??!?!?!
As far as I'm concerned this is the greatest thing since sliced bread. My 3 mo old baby was already doing fairly well sleeping for 8 hour stretches but with the addition of this it has cemented 8 hour sleep times as well as made it easier to let him fall asleep on his own. With the projector on the ceiling (includes 3 different slide shows to play) he loves to look up and watch the sheep dance. It also has a great voice activation feature which does work well but for now I just leave it playing all the time at night. The nightlight is also handy to see better but with the projector on I can see the baby without a need for any nightlight. My only complaint is that it takes a bit of reading the manual to get the hang of it if you use it in conjunction with the voice-activation. As a new first time mom, I really didn't have time to read everything and for a while with the voice activation setting turned on, the thing would come on in the middle of the day when I went in the nursery to change a diaper. Once I figured out how to turn all the gizmos off it is great. I was against sound soothers originally thinking what happens when you don't have it? The baby doesn't sleep at all? I don't care, the baby sleeps so well now with it that I will never go with out it. It's small and light enough to pack and take with you anywhere! Update 7 months later...after about 4 months I had an issue where the projector quit turning so the image displays on the ceiling but it does not rotate/move. After some forceful coercion (read knocking it on the floor a few times to loosen it up), the disk started spinning again. About a month later it stopped again and it never has moved since then. I still think its a great product and my son doesn't care if the image is moving so we continue to use it nightly. I probably could have sent it back in but its not worth the hassle to me.

Great bang for my buck!
Compared to other sound systems this is one of the cheapest in cost which was why it was hard to believe that it was any good but after some research and hearing how great this product actually was I had to see for myself. I LOVE this sound machine! and I think my daughter does too!!! not often you come across such a great product for such a great deal. Has 3 lullabies, 3 Mozart, heart beat, white noise, rain and ocean plus 3 different projection images that spin and can be aimed to your convenience. A great feature is the option to have voice activation on or off which I gotta say has saved our sleep quite a few times and to top it all off it also has a nightlight! It is a very light and small machine which is great if you're planning to put it on a dresser among other things. All in all I love it and I highly recommend it!

Not worth it..
The sound stopped working within 10 days of purchase.. Not the quality you expect such an expensive product.. Not recommended.

Super Sound Sleeper
