Greatest deck cooking system ever
This is an incredible deck cooking machine. When my old grill was getting to the last of it's economic life, and I was to either rebuild the burners etc. or buy a new one, I realized that my style of cooking had changed/evolved over the years. My preference now is more towards vegetables and fish instead of steaks, burgers, and dogs. I thought I was going to have to build something, but did a search online to make sure I wasn't re-invening the wheel. This griddle, no not a grill, came up on Amazon for $269 including shipping. Assembly was right at 1 hour, including trying to find live batteries for it. My whole family loves this thing. We have done Japanese steak house, turkey burgers, tuna steaks, salmon. It's great to be able to cook up finely chopped veggies, then add steamed brown rice, and do fried rice on the griddle. I have not found anybody in the area that has ever seen or heard of these. So, it's pretty novel. Photos of the griddle with multiple items cooking are now all over facebook thanks to my wife. The steel top by itself is heavier than any grill I have ever owned. It is truly a heavy duty machine. You will need to buy a cover for it if you keep yours outside. It will rust if left in the rain. I am so impressed with this, that I am fixing up my deck to entertain. I am buying an indoor/outdoor carpet to go over the entire old pressure treated planks, 12'*32', and a 6 person table and chairs from Lowes. The best burgers, turkey, I have ever cooked have come off of this. I can get a nice brown crust, and keep the burgers moist. No more flare ups, no more char. no more dried out burgers. Mixed veggies stir fry is my favorite though. We make huge amounts of turkey burgers, veggies, and fried rice, so we have left overs all week, cooked outside without heating up the house. And, with fish, the best way to cook, and without stinking up the house since it's done outside. I was thinking I may pick up a small grill to have on the deck, but the more I use the griddle, the less attractive that is. I had heard that the best steaks are prepared in a skillet super hot. But, I haven't tried steaks or dogs yet. If the picture comes through, what you are seeing is 2 lbs of turkey burgers, and 1 lb of ground turkey mixed with veggies. After cooling down to low, Added to this will be 10 whipped eggs, then once all cooked, it will be spread out, and topped with shredded cheese til it melts.

Love it!
Wow wow wow. I freaking ADORE this thing! My husband and I have both wanted a good griddle indoors, this is the next best thing. And it's seriously huge. I wanted it partially to take to our family reunion. He took it on a scouting trip and was able to cook all the food the entire trip in a fraction of the time those smaller camp stoves work. We plan on cooking massive amounts of pancakes on it for a 4th of July breakfast in a couple of weeks.Seasoning the surface is simple and there are instructions provided in the included manual as well. This gets very hot, very fast. I love that there are 4 heating elements that are the depth of the cooking surface. You can create different temperature zones to keep some food warning while you cook the rest. There aren't any very noticible hot spots either, which is something that has always frustrated me with griddles that sit on top of burners. Clean up is simple. I use a squeeze bottle with plain water in it to loosen up and stuck on particles. then scrape off what's needed. Rub with a bit of oil to protect your seasoning and let cool. The men at Scout camp had serious griddle envy. The only problem is a common one, the regulator that's included is a serious piece of junk. We used it several times before we ran into a problem, the company was prompt in sending us a replacement, but I wonder if the quality on that one will be any better and plan on ordering a different one just in case. The removable shelves are very light weight, but are still functionable. I would recommend a sturdy table if you have anything very heavy you need to set down. My husband also used some thin sheets of metal and make a wind break for the section between the griddle and the base where the high winds around here can cut the effectiveness of the heat down. I would also like to make a carry bag for it. there is a bag you can buy for the griddle, but not for the base . We are both very very pleased with it, especially for the price. It's a bit spendy, but we'll worth it when your far from the comforts of home.

Best Grill we EVER bought hands down!
We LOVE LOVE LOVE this gas griddle! We were shopping for a new grill since our old one litterly rusted out at Lowes. I saw this same model at at the store and thought it would be interesting to have a flat top. Went home, read some reviews and looked up some YouTube videos on people cooking on it and you can cook anything on this thing! It's easy to clean and one thing I hated with our regular gas grill was the meats (hamburgers, pork, chicken, etc) would stick and fall apart on the grill. On this flat top we have not had anything stick to it. It's wonderful. We have made: chicken cheese steaks (husbands favorite), hamburgers (you get a nice sear on each side), steak, chicken, boneless pork ribs, chicken drumsticks, stir fry, fries, baked potatoes, corn on the cob, fried green beans, eggs, has browns, pancakes, paninis, Chinese pot stickers, naan or flatbread pizza... The list goes on. We make sure to oil up the griddle after each use and cover it. We just bought a regular grill cover and it fits just fine. Only complaints: others have said this but it's true the oil run off pan doesn't sit directly under the hold to catch it so I get an oil spill on my deck. It's a pain they really need to correct that. The other complaint I have is the handles on each side and above where the flat (not sure what you would call it) counter? Where you can put items. Therefore you can't hang anything off of them like untencils, etc. This griddle gets super hot! It really makes you feel like your in a short order kitchen so the exit heat vents are over the side counters on both sides. Therefore I have melted spices placed there and burnt myself on spatulas I let resting there. It makes the area on both sides unusable. So I use the railing behind the grill from my deck to place items I'm using to cook with. Overall, this grill can do anything you want and it's one easy clean up. I like the 4 burners and have multiple things cooking for breakfast, lunch or dinner at the same time. It has plenty of room. I also will turn off an end burner and just have food warm while I'm waiting for other food to finish cooking. It's convenient to have all the space.

Great grill, but shipper dumped it in my driveway ...
Great grill, but shipper dumped it in my driveway and it was obviously damaged: I am glad I purchased the grill and have enjoyed cooking with it. I was a little concerned by the condition of the box dumped in my driveway, as it was held together by packaging tape and the box was all but destroyed (luckily I have a long driveway, as there was no attempt to conceal the box, and, as it was dumped on its end, it was easily seen from the street). Luckily, steel is tough stuff, and the obvious dumping didn't do too much damage because the cold-rolled steel griddle protected everything in the box from too much damage. The outside corner of the griddle surface was scuffed up pretty good (the side of the box was completely open, so the griddle, when dumped, was scraped up by my driveway), a rivet was popped off the device to hold the legs in the collapsed position (I'll never use it), and the front panel was distended a bit, but if it would fire up, I'd be OK with the damage. Everything assembled fine and I was able to bend the front panel back in place so it looks OK (but, who would really care if you could notice it). I cleaned the griddle good, seasoned it up with whatever oil I had around, and have cooked bacon, steaks, and eggs. Cleaning is a breeze, and involves a good scraping of any leftover food, some water steaming for sticky spots, and a good coat of oil when done to preserve the surface. It takes about five minutes to heat up, and several minutes for it to cool down. I didn't have any experience with the front, right-hand grease drain model, but the rear grease management on my griddle works well and just seems less messy. The wheels are tough enough to handle being pulled in and out of my garage easily enough. The side shelves are kinda cool, easily removed by loosening some knobs on the underside, and you may want to remove them if you are storing the grill in a tight space. The shelves slide right back in when you need them (hint: don't set anything made of plastic on those shelves up next to the grill). If my kids stole my Blackstone griddle, I'd buy another one. Wait until you cook bacon on it - a pain in the kitchen, a dream on the Blackstone.

Perfect for Campouts and Group Meal Prep!
Great portable griddle and grill set-up! Folds-up and stores in a few packages that are easily transported and reassembles in about 5 minutes. Was hosting a group campout and needed a griddle capable of preparing pancake/sausage/egg breakfast for 30 campers. Preseasoned the griddle with flax seed oil before the event and am very happy with the performance and value. The seasoning process formed a hard non-stick surface and cleaned up very quickly. The controls are easy to use and the griddle required the two center flame controls to be reduced by about 20% to heat evenly. The grill had similar hot spots, but once identified it was simple to adjust the controls for reducing the output to provide even surface temperature. Had read about a problem with grease and drippings trailing back across the bottom of the drain channel, so followed the tip suggestion to insert a binder clip leg in the drain hole. This is a simple and effective remedy and the grease/oil followed the clip leg into the collection container. No back flow or dripping on to the control panel! Was originally considering a griddle rental, but in the 3 day outing, this unit paid for itself. Used the savings to buy the optional grill and grilling accessories. Blackstone does not sell a storage bag for the base, so we bought a waterproof lined canvas transport bag designed for rooftop rack hauling. Placed a rubber backed entry carpet in the bottom of the bag to provide a heavy duty bottom and form to the transport bag. A few nylon cinch straps secure the bag and base for hauling, transport and storage. Sewed a few black canvas bags to hold the bottom shelf, side counters, grill wind shield / drip pan. These bags store in the base burner cavity and keep the parts from getting scraped and scratched during transport. The griddle is very heavy duty fits nicely in the optional lined, zippered canvas storage bag. It is heavy to carry, but manageable. The optional grill comes with the identical zippered canvas bag and fits nicely. Removed the four front clips so the grates can be lifted and tilted back for easy cleaning. The open design is fine for most grilling, but glad that we also bought a large stainless steel dome cover to cover certain meats and for quickly melting cheese over the burgers. I prefer to do the heavy grill cleaning at home, so we bring a heavy construction plastic trash bag for covering the dirty grill before inserting in the canvas bag. Keeps the bag free of drippings clean for the next trip. The propane tank hangars need to be removed to store the base. To simply the install/removal, tack welded the bolts to the propane mounts and replaced the supplied nuts with plastic knobs with threaded brass inserts. Now the propane hanger hardware is quickly installed and removed without needing wrenches! Is the Blackstone grill perfect? No, but it is easy to use, assemble, disassemble, transport and store. Would I buy it again? Definitely! It made the meal prep for the group so easy and it received many compliments! A few campers are now buying their own Blackstone griddle/grills after watching it in action!

4.75 Stars - Nearly Perfect - WE LOVE IT!!!
OK, I would give this 5 stars very happily, but as I was thinking about it more, there are a few things that could be improved. In any case, this was the best investment in money I've spent in a long time!!! I absolutely LOVE this griddle. My wife and I have 4 kids, and we like to make pancakes on Sundays. Even if we use 2 pans on the stove, it turns out to be almost 2 hrs of cooking to make that many pancakes. Making pancakes on the griddle... probably about 15 - 20 mins!!! So easy, so fast!!! Never had a problem with sticking (we followed various youtube videos for good seasoning instructions... I suggest you do the same!). Rib Eye Stakes AMAZING!!! Fajitas, pancakes, omelets, hash browns... everything we cook on here turns out GREAT!!! Don't get me wrong with the 4 star rating, It is more like 4.75 starts, and after some mods I've done, it is 5 star worthy. Here are the things that could be better. There is a gap between the bottom of the griddle and the top of the frame that allows 2 things to happen: 1 - It will let the wind in and can blow out your flame (especially if it is on low flame), and 2 - It will allow heat to escape around the edges of the griddle. We put tin foil over the lip of the griddle that went down to shield the gap, and we got better heat distribution across the griddle, and the flame was not in danger of being blown out. I will eventually make some sheet metal pieces to do this instead of aluminum foil, but it makes a big difference in my book. Also, we painted the bottom of the griddle with high temp BBQ black spray paint. Probably not required, but we wanted to make sure it didn't rust under there. Better safe than sorry in my book. WE LOVE IT!!!

If you were to have one outdoor cooking device, this would be my recommendation.
I live in a three-bedroom townhouse with an electric stove in Mesa, Arizona. If you can stay away from generating heat in your living space, you do it. The Blackstone 36-inch grill helps me cook everything outside and even allows me to do things (more easily) to add extra flavors to food. Cooking multiple items in a small kitchen requires many pans to get everything ready. Either that or youโre cooking things one at a time increasing cooking time. Breakfast used to be an absolute chore and we did not look forward to it. Now with the 36-inch cooking surface, we can have a great breakfast in under 20 minutes. The cleanup is super easy. For example, we get pre-cooked bacon from Costco, Bisquick for pancakes, and hash brown patties from Walmart. The breakfast is significantly cheaper than Dennyโs (our usual go-to spot) and much more affordable as you can get multiple breakfasts out of what you spend. Cooking burgers is another great example of what takes less time on the Blackstone. Usually, when you cook burgers on a conventional grill, youโre just going to cook your burgers up and not cook any sides on the grill, or youโre less likely to. On the Blackstone, you can easily cook up sautรฉ some onions to add that extra flavor to the burger, right alongside some bacon and burgers. Want another side? Sautรฉ some asparagus or even cook some chorizo and potatoes. Cleanup? So easy. Fewer pans are used and less cleanup. The Blackstone 36-inch grill is one of the most versatile cooking devices out there and if I was only to have one outdoor device, this would be it. It shines when you are feeding three or more people, so itโs a must for families. I got my 36-inch Blackstone for about $289 where it can usually cost $439. I was reluctant to get it for $289 but Iโm glad I did because the investment pays for itself in a short amount of time.

What A Timesaver!
I will start with shipping...I ordered it on Saturday, April 8th and received it Thursday April 13th. Very unexpectedly quick when you take into consideration the size and weight of the package. It was well packaged and very easy to assemble. We purchased the grill for the sole purpose of cooking bacon, sausage, and ham on it for monthly church fundraiser breakfasts. We followed the instructions to season the grill. The first time used we cooked 44 pounds of bacon, 2 boxes of sausage, and 2 large breakfast hams sliced. What a time saver. One person tended the meat while the other loaded the grill. It cooked very evenly on a low to medium heat which resulted in nice long strips of bacon rather than scrunched up slices we were used to when we cooked on high, on electric griddles. Of course bacon generates lots of grease... way more than most meats and we managed fine. The grease channel at the front of the grill directed the grease to the collection container on the right end. We had to dump it frequently but if cooking anything other than bacon I expect the container would be more than adequate. The shelves on the unit improve efficiency, so convenient! The rack for the propane tank also very efficient and sturdy. It is easily moved around despite the size. The unit was easy to clean. I can't imagine being without this grill. It saves us so much time!!!!

Fantastic for a great meal
This grill is near perfect. I have made many meals with it now and think,it's pretty great. The only issue and one I consider a big deal is the grease catcher. It will leak hot grease/oil onto your feet while cooking. It has been noted by other buyers and it's no joke. The grill is super hot as is the grease, it will burn you badly if you don't pay attention. If you have a nice deck make sure the grill is on a mat to protect the area where the grease spills. The manufacturer has decided this is not an issue no has no fix for it that makes sense. I would suggest getting it very hot and hitting the drip edge hard with heavy hammer to get a better angle so it drains into the catch.
