Official Boy Scout Handbook

Timeless, classic handbook on how to develop a boy from a pipsqueek into a God fearing, patriotic and brave man. Probably banned from public school libraries if i had to guess.This probably the best printing version you'll find. Those that came later begin to reveal the wussification of the Organization that we know today as the transgender scouts of America.Lots of useful outdoor and basic bushcraft skills along with life skills make this a must read for boys and young men who's parents are not hipsters/ liberal douches.

I picked up a couple of these for actually reading and putting in my bug out bags. This is the same book I actually had in the late 70s and eary 80s while in Boy Scouts. Lots of great camping and basic survival ideas that the whole family can use and a very good price. Little bigger than a regular paperback it is also more convient to toss into a backpack than a lot of the survival books. Its also easier to read since it was meant for kids. LOTS of pictures and how to's. Yes there are tons of better camping/survival books out there, but for basics and for the price..pick up a couple and read it, tie some knots and toss it in a bag.

Very well written. It is almost like a snapshot of American history. A classic edition.

With the bias that I had one of these versions for the BSA handbook as a very young kid a couple decades ago, I recall further updated versions didn't quite cover the intricate subtleties or detail as did the the Norman Rockwell version, with Green Bar Bill's know how and indexing on the back cover. Very enjoyable both then and now
