In 1992, MI6 exfiltrated Vasili Mitrokhin, the most senior activist in the KGB, who had been responsible for running the KGB archives. He had noted thousands of documents, described by the FBI as the greatest single cache of intelligence ever received by the West.' This archive resulted in many prosecutions, some of which are still ongoing. of Modern History at Cambridge and the world's leading intelligence scholar. Their first volume, The KGB in Europe and the West, revealed the extent of KGB penetration of what they called The Main Adversary and the existence of a previously unknown nuclear spy, Melita Norwood. The second volume, The KGB and the World, continues the revelations from the sublime to the absurd - which Third World leaders were in the pay of the KGB, precisely how extensive KGB penetration of foreign governments was, and how KGB agents were instructed to assess the spread of the influence of rival Chinese communism (by going round African capitals trying to count the changing number of posters of Mao Tse-tung in shops and public buildings...) Review: A Must Read! - If you want to understand everything that is going on in the world right now, it is imperative to see the hand of the Kremlin in most of the disinformation campaigns that are gaining around the world. The networks have been out there and remain out there. As such, this book is a great way to learn how to see the long lasting impact of the remnants of the evil empire that has returned with the extreme ferociousness of a cancerous metastases in our society. Review: Five Stars - Inside approach of the mysterious world of KGB. Very interesting to have an "Eastern" point of view.

Are 2 books with different titles and covers the same??
I have not purchased this book, but ... its contents appear to be the same as in Andrew/Mitrokhin's book entitled "The World Was Going Our Way," which I do own; "Mitrokhin Archive II" and "The World Was Going Our Way" were both published in 2005 and each has 676 pages; each has chapters covering Latin America, Middle East, Asia and Africa. The titles of these books are different and the cover design is different, which might suggest they are two different books. They seem to be the same to me; please correct this review if I am wrong.

KGB secrets revealed in full
When former KGB man Vasili Mitrokhin defected to the UK he took with him the most extensive archive of intelligence received from any source ever. This book is a must-read for all those of you who enjoyed the earlier Part-1. This second part reveals the full extent of the KGB's links in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. This book exposes the extent of the KGB's connections with many world leaders including Castro, Allende, Nasser, Saddam, Mengistu etc. A bit tedious to read, but definitely worth the effort.

Revealing
Gosh - what a tangle web we we when we first try to deceive, incredible detail and outlandish truths how the Politically driven Secret Services socialise their doctrine and carve the territories for selfish gain - a riveting read.

Exceptional, unbelievable!!!
Exceptional book on world view through the eyes of a KGB defector. Read it not just from the standpoint of India but for a world vision. If you’ve the patience (because at times this book will test that) if you can learn a lot about the world. I want to read part 1 as well but can’t find it on Amazon India. Unbelievably researched. Nothing less than a FIVE star!
