does it come with your basic av cables and a controller?

It comes with a wireless controller but no cords... But I just used a HDMI cord for my daughter's. If that helps at all.... They are supposed to give you cords but will not refund the money for missing cords.

Is the slim version any different from the regular xbox 360? mine isn’t working anymore and i have a lot of games on 360 i’d like to keep playing.

I haven't noticed any difference. We can play any of the xbox 360 games on this one with no issues. I think the difference is only in the design of the system but not the operation. I hope this helped:)

If it doesn't have the hard drive, I don't believe it has any memory.
