Learn the secrets to obtaining Bruce Lee's astounding physique with this insightful martial arts training book. The Art of Expressing the Human Body , a title coined by Bruce Lee himself to describe his approach to martial arts, documents the techniques he used so effectively to perfect his body for superior health and muscularity. Beyond his martial arts and acting abilities, Lee's physical appearance and strength were truly astounding. He achieved this through an intensive and ever-evolving conditioning regime that is being revealed for the first time in this book. Drawing on Lee's notes, letters, diaries and training logs, Bruce Lee historian John Little presents the full extent of Lee's unique training methods including nutrition, aerobics, isometrics, stretching and weight training. In addition to serving as a record of Bruce Lee's training, The Art of Expressing the Human Body , with its easy-to-understand and simple-to-follow training routines, is a valuable source book for those who seek dramatic improvement in their health, conditioning, physical fitness, and appearance. This Bruce Lee Book is part of the Bruce Lee Library which also features: Bruce Lee: Striking Thoughts Bruce Lee: The Celebrated Life of the Golden Dragon Bruce Lee: The Tao of Gung Fu Bruce Lee: Artist of Life Bruce Lee: Letters of the Dragon Bruce Lee: Jeet Kune Do Review: If you are a Bruce Lee fan you will love this book. This is a book every martial artist would enjoy reading. - As a lifetime student of numerous martial arts (Judo, wrestling, boxing, Jujitsu, Karate-Do, Kenjutsu, Military combatives, Jeet Kune Do etc.), I was a Bruce Lee fan for many years. I have also read just about every book published on the late Bruce Lee and his own fighting expression of Jeet Kune Do. Like Bruce, I sought out numerous fitness activities which would make be a more efficient martial artist. When I saw this fantastic book (Bruce Lee: the art of expressing the human body compiled by John Little), for a bargain price I had to have it. It is one of the few books I have not read previously on Bruce Lee. This short review cannot due this book justice. If you desire to know the various exercise routines and equipment Bruce used to become super fighting fit, this is a must read book. Interestingly, in my own search I used many of the same sources when I was training seriously in the martial arts. Bruce did not seek out a bodybuilder’s hugeness but his hard muscular body was focused on creating more power and speed in his techniques. He sought out exercise programs from a wide variety of systems. Some of the many tools he used to build his strength and power include the following: Isometric (8 basic) exercises, barbells, dumbbells, kettle bells, circuit training routines, the Enter the Dragon routine for martial artists, abdominal exercises, forearm exercises, Bruce Lee’s top 7 exercises for the neck and shoulders, and his top exercises for building the chest, back, arms, legs and calves. He also had a routine when training with the heavy bag and numerous other exercise programs. If you desire to understand what it takes to be the best you can be in any martial art, this book is for you. Bruce Lee understood clearly the essential fitness factors that go into any martial art training routine. This book in my opinion is a classic on the training methods of the late Bruce Lee. Truly informative and riveting.
This book is outstanding! If you are a martial artist, a fan of Bruce Lee or even a fitness enthusiast you will find this book full of wonderful information from the evolution of Bruce Lee’s workouts as he remained a constant pioneer of self improvement, loads of workout routines to add to your own or even his approach to nutrition. This book has loads of information to digest and review I am definitely glad to have this book in my collection. These types of books are definitely not my typical fancy but John Little has done an outstanding job compiling, organizing and making this book for all its detail. I really stress this is such an amazing book.

Learn to train like the best
This book had more than I imagined. I have the Tao of Jeet Kune Do, and while that book covers the philosophy of Lee's fighting method, this book goes into detail about how he actually trained his body. This book breaks it down, body group by body group, as well as insight on his training methods, his progressions, and his nutrition. It's easy, with this book, to not only follow his regimen to a T (good luck with that. Lee trained 4-7 hours a day), but you can add portions of his workouts into your own. One of my favorite parts is that he began every day with stretching. It's a great way to begin each day with a sense of calm and a primer for your body. It's a fun habit to add to your daily fitness routine. You wanna be the best, you gotta train like the best. And this book is the ultimate breakdown. If you're a Lee fan, this book is a must-have. The insight you gain into his daily life, his motivation, and his dedication is amazing.

Great for mindset molding
This book is great for understanding the philosophy and thought process of Bruce Lee while giving you some basic starting points to help you to produce your own system. This book does not include much when it comes to step by step walk-through workouts since Bruce didn't believe that there was one set path to physical beauty. Each of us must tailor fit our workouts, diet, and lifestyle to fit our individual end goals. Plus, trial and error is primary in Bruce's methods. He believed that his methods must always evolve with the breakthroughs of the time. So, view this book as a broad guide and a mind molding tool. You will need to supplement this book with more thorough work out manuals.

Not a complete book on exercise, but great for motivation
A friend of mine on Twitter mentioned this book, it looked interesting, and so I got it. Although I've got a number of books on bodybuilding and fitness, this book really helped me make the resolution to lose an extra 40 pounds that I've been carrying around, and got me started on the path to doing it. I always thought of circuit training as something girls do, but I discovered it's actually a great way to maintain or gain muscle while losing weight. Although I've been lifting for about six months (I've lifted seriously at two points in the past) I found I had a visible change in my physique after two weeks of circuit training + a high protein and whole food diet with almost no added sugar. I like also that Bruce also explored some of the areas that often get overlooked in fitness programs, such as forearm development. (Most guys who work out at the gym have big biceps and triceps, and scrawny forearms -- although I'm looking into other books to learn more, this book got me started on the path of doing something about it rather than just complaining about it.) This wouldn't be the only book you'd want to own about fitness, but it's the best one I own when it comes to morivating myself to get results and change my body.

"Express myself, not lying to myself."
Bruce Lee has given so much to everyone. He left several manuscripts, thoughts, movies, poems, traces of himself. Bruce Lee is considered the father of MMA, to find part or less agree on the issue, I can only say that he expressed his way of being, without lying. This book is like watching (in my opinion) to the growth of small seedling that becomes the oak. The book collects all the exercises that Sifu Lee performed, the card routine in the gym, as well as a complete section that is explained by testimony and notes of the same small dragon, the diet you choose, up to his untimely demise. Dedicated to the fans, I can only recommend this book to have even among those who have already purchased. I would add that the quality of these publications is up to my expectations. Good Read and Walk On
