Perfect First Instrument for My 7-Year-Old!
We bought the Mad About SU8 Soprano Ukulele in Red as a Christmas gift for our 7-year-old son, and it has been a massive hit! If you’re looking for an entry-level instrument that balances quality with a kid-friendly price tag, this is it. The Highlights: Striking Color: The red finish is vibrant and glossy. It looks much more expensive than it actually is and really stood out under the Christmas tree. Perfect Size: The soprano size is ideal for a 7-year-old. His smaller hands can easily navigate the fretboard and hold the neck comfortably without getting frustrated. Complete Starter Kit: It comes with a gig bag and a spare set of strings. The bag is basic but perfect for keeping the dust off and carrying it to school. Surprising Sound: For a "budget" ukulele, the tone is surprisingly bright and clear once the strings have settled. A Quick Tip for Parents: Like all new string instruments (especially those with nylon strings), it does go out of tune quite quickly for the first few days while the strings stretch. Don't be discouraged! After a few days of regular tuning, it holds its pitch much better. I’d recommend downloading a free tuning app or buying a clip-on tuner to go with it. Overall, this was the highlight of my son's Christmas. It’s durable enough to survive a beginner's enthusiasm but plays well enough to actually learn on. Highly recommended for any budding young musicians!

Does the job.
Hood value for a beginner. Kids loved it. Easy to tune. The extra strings and carry case a bonus. We'll worth the money. Bought for a 7 year old learning this at school.

High action, hard to play but easily fixed. You get what you pay for
You get exactly what you pay for. Out of the box it makes noise, but the action is so high it would be very difficult to play, and impossible to play in tune. Expect to remove the nut AND bridge saddle and shave down the bottom of them to get the action right - or take it to a music shop and they'll do this for cheap. The only problem is that the intonation is wrong and there's no way to adjust it. Chords are fine, and when this annoys me enough I'll remove the bridge entirely and move it to the correct position The tone is pleasant and it's audible without being annoyingly loud, strings seems decent and it's mechanically sound. Factory setup is poor, expect to tweak it otherwise the child you give it to might be sad

Perfect ukulele for beginners
Decided to take up ukulele having never played before and spent a lot of time reading reviews on here before choosing an instrument and a book. Really pleased with both my purchases (this ukulele and Pierre Haché 31 easy ukulele songs). The instrument was well packaged with a pick, spare strings and bag. It's clean and smart and feels very sturdy. They mention on this page, and on a leaflet that comes with the instrument, that it will fall out of tune very easily for a while and it definitely does. But a few days of playing and I can already tell it’s falling less out of tune and sounding better for longer so I’m not worried. I picked up a free ukulele tuning app that I use at the start of every practice. Would definitely recommend this item to others.

Perfect!
I’m loving it - which can not be said for my family. I’m using this years summer leave to really work on my skill. I used it as a prop when holding a speach at my friend’s birthday party and it was a hit. Maybe more me than the ukulele, but the colour of it stunned them and me.
