Very solid training sword. There's certainly something to be said for training with weighted clothing/weapons-- it develops speed. And that seems to be what they had in mind when designing this.Yeah, it's slightly heavier towards the blade than a real sword should be. The idea of a TRAINING sword is not to 100% simulate a live blade. It's to be a tool to develop the skills necessary for using a blade effectively. It's the right dimensions as far as length/width, and only slightly off as far as weight, so very much a valid sparring weapon. Much more durable than competitors' synthetics as well.Practicing with this sort of trainer to the point of proficiency means that when you eventually do move to a live blade, you are instantly much more effective, as your blade is no longer working against you. I'm using it for studying I.33, but it's much easier to wield as a longsword proxy (two-handed), which does seem to be much more popular now than (one-handed)sword and buckler... I would recommend this training sword to anyone looking to get into HEMA. Just make sure to wear padded gloves if/when free sparring, broken fingers are a real possibility.

I bought this in order to sword fight with my friend. He bought a different training sword from Amazon. I actually like his better, the hilt is more comfortable. But, that's because I hold this sword with two hands when it's meant to be held one-handed. It's a pretty heavy training sword, but that's just my opinion, I have never held any other training sword so I wouldn't know the difference. I consider myself to be a pretty strong 18 year old, and I use two hands, but I am still able to hold and swing it one-handed. I just only use two hands because I swing hard when I fight with my buddy, and I'd swing too slow and wobbly if I used only one hand. It is very durable, it just might get scratched up some. I ordered a sewcond one of this a week or so after I got the first one because the first one broke, But only because my friend swung it as hard as he could downward on a thick tree trunk that had fallen over (thick enough to walk on) to see if it could damage the tree. The sword broke in half! the sword is strong enough to cut branches off tress, just don't swing at the trunks. I love the feel of the plastic and the black color is cool. The design is pretty minimal, which is fine with me, but doesn't capture my attention. I;m glad I got this, lots of fun to play around with. It hurts when you're hit hard with it, so just because it says training, don't give to little kids. It's basically a bat.

Training sword comes in 3 pieces: middle one-piece sword, rubber retaining ring, and the hilt. Feels very solid in hand but since it is made of polypropylene, it is weighted evenly all throughout the sword which makes it not balanced well for repeated swings. After about 10 swings it was causing my wrist to get sore and a rotating the sword in one hand causes the hilt to hit up against the outer hand. Seems like a good training tool to build muscle memory for swinging swords but not for fancy moves in one hand.

The Cold Steel Hand & A Half Training Sword is a very solid training sword. The sword itself is made of quality polypropylene and is a really solid training weapon. The weapons itself is fairly heavy, which mimics to some level handling a real sword, though there is a difference. The weight ensures that the user gets a good workout and trains the muscles to handle a heavier sword. I am impressed with the makeup of the sword to ensure the wielder does not suffer any injury handling this item. This sword has held up to a fair amount of punishment, and abuse, without damage or scuffing and is a great value for the cost.My only concern is that the weapon seems a little off balance, but within an acceptable range for this sword and the price asked for it. Overall assessment is that this is a great beginners training sword that will hold up to the most punishing use and is very much worth the asking price paid.

I bought one of these a few years back, as a recommendation from my HEMA "Instructor" at the time.He wasn't an "official" instructor. It wasn't an "official" or "formal" training (we didn't even use the proper protective equipment, due to being broke college students). However, I learned a lot (of the basics) from him, and for that, I am grateful.I now use it still for HEMA practice when I can, as well as a prop weapon.PROS:- Price is better here than what you'd find at a brick-and-mortar outdoor store.- The Polypropylene plastic it's made from is super durable. You could whack it against the concrete on the ground, and it won't break. Your Instructor's fingers will, though (learned that the hard way), so keep caution while sparring.- After spraying a metal texture paint onto the "blade" (highly recommended for when using as a costume prop), when I sling it on in my shoulder harness sheath and go out in public with it, I feel so much like a bonafide badass, the looks I get are not ones of confusion or judgement, but of fear. The Fear of God kind of fear.- The neighborhood bully? The dick at work? That one nerd who won't call their hits? Your stupid DM who won't let you do what you need to do during a session and tries to punish you with "Roll (x) Save" ? They will no longer be a problem when you bring out this bad boy!CONS:- None.- Except I'm starting to get tired of hearing "No, please, I have kids!" or "I'm calling the cops!" and the like every time I accidentally break the person's hands or feet while surprise sparring. You would think they'd learn by now.- Also, I scared my instructor during our first sparring match. Not exactly a con, but now he won't stop telling me to go away or threaten a restraining order whenever I go to his place and ask to practice.However, those cons are not enough for me to rate this below five stars. Get yours and become a real warrior today!

I grew up on star wars and lord of the rings. I spent most of my childhood running around in my backyard swinging a stick around pretending I was holding a sword or lightsaber. Me and my siblings received and inflicted numerous light injuries on each in mock combat.As an adult, I bought a set of these to relive that childhood joy, and they do not disappoint!As a feature list for people who shared my wood combat experience (and I am comparing sticks, not professional wooden sparring swords):1. Unlike wood, these things don't break. You don't have to hold back with these things for fear of shattering them.2. Unlike wood, these things are HEAVY, and thats a good thing. Swinging and blocking with these things is enjoyable and actually good exercise.3. Unlike the misshapen bits of branches we used to play with, these things look like actual swords. I cannot stop posing with it.3. They still hurt when you get hit, making up for their slightly more flexible build with greater weight. If you are a pansy who doesn't want to get hurt, I cannot say that these will be to your taste.A great product overall, and I would definitely recommend them to anyone wanting some good old fashion sparring.I will be updating my review in a month or so to comment on overall durability.

Lot of people complaining of this not being sharp, or club like, I disagreff egg the balance is off by a bit but a bolt in the pommel should help with that, but for 31$ me and two friends had a blast with these and got great exercise. Totally worth owning. It is a bit heavy if you were small, but that usually true of longswords

Eine hervorragende Alternative zu den doch recht anfälligen Holzübungsschwertern, Schwerttechniken, weitgehend ohne Verletzungen, zu lernen.Trotzdem sollte man sich Gedanken über eine entsprechende Schutzausrüstung machen oder aber entsprechend vorsichtig und mit Verantwortung seinem Trainingspartner gegenüber agieren. Der Polypropylen Trainings - Anderthalbhänder wiegt zwar nicht genau soviel wie ein Original Anderthalbfacher, kommt dem aber doch wesentlich näher als ein solches Holzübungsschwert, ist dabei sehr gut ausbalanciert und federt gegnerische Schläge sehr gut ab. Er ist sehrviel robuster als es Holzübungsschwerter sind. Natürlich bleibt es nicht aus, das kleine Macken, Kratzer und Spuren durch das Üben entstehen, diese entstehen bei den Holzschwertern erheblich viel stärker, die Holzschwerter gehen oftgenung durch Splittern oder sogar durch Brechen kaputt. Aber wer will mit einem Übungsschwert schon einen Schönheitswettbewerb gewinnen. Es ist kein Schaukampfschwert und auch keine Larbwaffe sondern ein extrem robustes Übungsschwert. Wer das Gewicht in Richtung des Griffes verlagern möchte, kann den Knauf aufbohren, ein Gewinde in die Bohrung schneiden und eine entsprechende Gewindestange aus Metall ein drehen. Dies bringt außerdem das Gesamtgewicht, dem des Originals ein weiteres Stück näher.Meiner Meinung nach gibt es nichts Besseres, bevor man sich an das Training mit Metallschwertern macht. *****

Espada para entrenamiento de esgrima. Tamaño perfecto, calidad de los materiales. Dura, ligeramente pesada, pero es la mejor para entrenamiento de esgrima. Mi hijo está encantado y su profe de esgrima quedó impresionado con la espada. Le gustó muchísimo. Entrena con ella todos los días y es una espada robusta y duradera. Quizá para niños un poco pesada, pero para adolescentes y adulto está muy bien.

Tardo un poco más en llegar pero todo bien, fueron muy amables los encargados de la tienda en aclararme la situación

思ったより重くていい感じです。重心は剣の真ん中らへんにあるようです。私の身長は172cmで手のサイズも平均的だと思いますが、柄が短いとか手が痛いとかはないです。天井がそんなに高くないので、素振りをしようとすると天井を叩かないかいつも心配してます。
