Great replacement for 1999 4Runner
Busted the antenna of my 1999 4Runner in the car wash, and this one fits perfectly! The replacement took barely 5 minutes and works like a charm.

Easy to install and fits like original.
Seems to work well. Easy to install too. Can’t say anything about how long it lasts as it hasn’t been installed long but I will update if there is problems.

So easy to install
This was so easy to install! The only time it could be a problem is if your old plastic gear strip has broken off inside the motor assembly. There are videos on how to clean that out on YT. You can see the installation instructions in the picture, but here is the short version: 1. Turn radio off. 2. Remove the cover nut on the antenna (you can use needle nose pliers and fit them into the grooves or use regular pliers and gently squeeze on the sides to turn). There's a lot of threads, so much turning is needed. 3. Remove the plastic bezel under the nut (it just pops off). 4. Turn on radio (you might want help with this, because the old antenna will start to feed itself out of the hole pretty quickly, so you need to catch it, if you can). Note which side the teeth are facing on the plastic strip. For 4Runners, it should be forward. 5. Feed the new antenna into the hole with the grooved teeth facing forward (or whatever you saw with the old one). It should go in at least a few inches before catching on the motor gear. 6. Turn the radio off (once again, help would be best) and feed the new antenna strip and antenna into the hole until it is flush with the top and the motor shuts off. 7. Replace the bezel. 8. Replace the nut. 9. Turn on radio to see if it works. (scream a bit if it doesn't) 10. Done!

At first, I was trying to determine the difference between this high end antenna compared to low end priced ones. I decided to go with this high end one and am not disappointed. It installed smooth, it works perfect and has not broken yet. So far so good. After reading reviews on the low end ones, glad I didn't go for one of those.

Comes with good install instructions, and once installed it worked great. I had a bunch of the old tooth cord stuck in the motor housing so it was slightly more involved but easy enough to do in the driveway. Removing the broken pieces from the motor housing meant the aerial fully retracted and has been working perfectly since.

They got back to me promptly and are issuing a refund. I’m going to purchase it again as I feel it was a one off kind of thing. Great to know they stand by their product. Would recommend them for sure.
