A must read for any Star Wars / Sith Lord / Dark Side fan!
Highly enjoyable reading! I whizzed through this trio of books in record time (for me). If you're interested in how the "rule of 2" came about for the Sith, where the current lineage of Sith Lords came from and even how the planet Hoth became the ice-world that it is, this trilogy is something you want to pick up.Having read a few other Star Wars books (though, only a few), this has been my favorite series by far. It covers ground from the first days of Bane's use of his force powers, through his military experience and in to his life as a Sith apprentice. From there, the series goes on to cover Bane's finding of an apprentice for himself and his battle with the other Sith. The series consistently tied in to itself very well, bringing characters along for the ride at natural yet unexpected points. Each book on it's own ended with style and finesse, leaving you wanting for more. The third and final book in the trilogy left me in shock with a twist that I didn't see but should have expected - the perfect kind of twist! I immediately went in search of additional books to continue from the end of this line.Drew Karpyshyn's writing is entertaining, energetic, and enjoyable. I highly recommend this trilogy to any Star Wars fan that wants to know more about the dark side of the force.

Awesome Foundation for Star Wars fans new to the EU/novels
I have recently embarked on a quest to read all of the major stories of the Star Wars saga; and while I grew up playing the games and watching the movies, it was not until recently that I made the effort to pick up a few of the books. At the time of this review, I have read the Darth Bane Trilogy, played Knights of the Old Republic, read the story of Revan, and enjoyed the short stories of the Lost Tribe of the Sith. However, no story has yet filled in more of the history of the origins of the universe than the Darth Bane trilogy. I had always seen and heard of Rakata items and lore, but it was not until this trilogy that I associated them with the beginning of the force users. Similarly, I'd helped destroy the infamous Starforge, but I had a hard time placing its significance in the grand scheme of the universe as a whole (rather than just isolated to that video game series). The story of Darth Bane helps readers make the transition from the Sith as they're represented in the Old Republic to the Sith as they're seen in the movies. The trilogy is packed with Star Wars history and is a must read for any Star Wars fan. Aside from its historical significance, it's an enjoyable read. The story follows no more than three protagonists at a time, balancing your attention span against the need to cover conflicting and intertwining stories; and the characters are relatable (as relatable as fictional beings can be), and the writing style is light, enjoyable, and fun.All-in-all, I'd recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Sci-Fi, is thinking about beginning their Star Wars journey, or is simply looking for a quick and easy read.

A wild ride.
The Darth bane trilogy is truly a wild ride. Drew karpyshyn does an incredible job fleshing out the legend that is bane. I was hooked from the get go. Characters you think unimportant or have fulfilled their plot development are never truly done and make reappearances flawlessly. Drew did a great job with this series and made bane one of my favorite characters. For me at least the ending kept this from five stars as it was a bit underwhelming but still brought closure to the series.

I loved this trilogy!
I bought this trilogy (kindle version) and finished it in under a week. It's hard to say how long each book is because it was the electronic edition, but according to the amazon listing of it in paper back, each book is around 3-400pg each. I would consider myself average or below average when it comes to the speed at which I read and comprehend material, but this book- wow. I honestly could not put it down. I'm not even that big of a fan of the Star Wars universe. I mean, I like the movies, but this was the first taste of the mythos I had ever explored and I was NOT disappointed. To describe the novel, it is somewhat dark. Don't expect a storybook ending. It's all about the Sith and the Sith perspective so you know what you're in for when you begin to read it. Even though it is dark, it is very tastefully done; this means little to no romance, battle scenes are descriptive and compelling, but not gory, and while you make connections with characters and feel for their inevitable loss or departure of the main story, it isn't disappointing unlike Game of Thrones. The author is new to me, but he did a great job. I would say his writing style is catered to the teen-adult range. So while I might have liked a more adult themed take on the story of Darth Bane, I definitely see why he chose to write it the way he did.Long story short, if you are a die-hard fan of Star Wars or just a casual fan, I highly recommend this book.

Great books, great value, I recommend them highly!
Karpyshyn does a great job of telling a story that we are so used to be told over video that its hard to notice that its a book. I should begin by saying that I am not an avid reader. But recently I needed to fly about 10+ hours, and I haven't been able to sleep on flights recently, so I decided to load up my Kindle app. I figured if its something I'm interested in maybe I would be able to read it and not be bored out of my mind. There's a clear reason that the books are NY Times bestsellers. There is an ample amount of imagery and description for a set of characters and worlds, but also leaves enough room for your own mind to fill in the blanks and assume certain things based on the things you've seen from Star Wars in the past. In my opinion a perfect balance between letting you imagine the story, but also giving you enough information that you see the story unfold right before your eyes. Now whats really great is that you get all 3 in one package, which means you don't need to hunt the rest down, and they all flow right after one another. If you're looking for a way to kill time till episode 8, or about to hop on a long flight, I say download all three, and even if you read a few pages a night, you will enjoy the experience of experiencing the world of Star Wars through a different channel.

Loved it!
This trilogy was amazing to read. It was my first Star Wars book and I canโt wait to get started on the earlier books and comics. I was hoping there would be a continuation after this but there isnโt, I think. Being able to read further into the Star Wars universe gives me a satisfaction and renewed appreciation for the world. I like knowing what happened in the past before where weโre currently are in the SW universe. I just wish there were more books about the Sith. But this book series had my attention and I didnโt want it end. Bravo Drew K!

Good series.
This series is pretty entertaining. It brings a lot to the sith mythos. I did enjoy it, it is a must read along with Darth Plageuis, which one of the best Star Wars novels, next to the Heir to the empire trilogy. But the Bane Trilogy is kind of formulaic. Bane Suffers, over comes adversity, gets virtually defeated, finds a holocrone and dominates his enemies. Overall very interesting how the character changes circumstances but never really changes. The first book is good the second book is better, and the 3rd book is Ok.

POWER!!!!!!!!! Unnnnnnnnnlimited POWER!!!!!!!!!
The dark side of the force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be "unnatural". If one is to comprehend the true nature of the force, one must study ALL of it's aspects.

The only thing this series left me with was a desire for more.
Extremely good. Different threads came together from across the trilogy and wove an intricate story that gave one everything you expect from the Sith and the origin story of the Rule of Two. Fabulous.
