Loved it, super nice flavour and probably my favourite gin I've tried

I have to own up to not being a gin drinker, having tasted Gordons and other London gins (with tonic) and Plymouth Gin (with water, as advised by the distillery) and not really enjoying it. As this gin is a different beast and with a fruit flavour, I thought I’d give it a try. As such, I am reviewing it on its own merits and not comparing it with other gins. First of all, do not drink this neat. It has the look, texture and taste of a cough syrup. However as it is not intended to be drunk in this manner, I won’t dock any stars. After this self inflicted unpleasant experience, I tried it with some chilled tonic (25% gin & 75% tonic) and found it to be a pleasant, refreshing drink especially on a hot evening such as the one in which I’m writing this. Drunk from a large wine goblet, the first thing I noticed was the sheer number of botanicals that come through in the bouquet. There are clear notes of citrus and juniper but strangely, although fruity, not so much of the damson. The damson does come through when tasting however. It has a fruity flavour, slightly sweet (certainly sweeter than plain gin) but with a bitter aftertaste on the tongue. At only 28% proof, it is not as powerful as many gins but this acts to its advantage as the alcohol taste is not overpowering. It also means you can drink more! I wouldn't drink this on a regular basis (my tastes, mainly a wine and whisky drinker) but for a refreshing cool drink on a hot evening, it is quite pleasant and is certainly the first gin I have tried that I would be happy to drink again.

Worth buying, a lovely type of gin and very different. I think its satnds out from all the other gins. Great with lemonade , ice and a slice of lemon.

Very nice gin, damson gin is the husbands favorite, and this is very nice, especially now the colder evenings are setting in, lovely to sip whilst outside against the chiminea

I purchased this off the back of becoming a massive fan of copper rivets dockyard gin. I recommend with ice, Mediterranean tonic and a decent gin glass! A truly quality summer tipple 👌
